  1. Way to get after 'em again, Mike and crew! Good job!
  2. Thanks again Mike for a great ride this morning! Good company and a beautiful day on the lake. The fresh salmon on the grill was fantastic with the recipe you told me Thanks again!
  3. Nice Job! I love fishing those small streams, keeps your skills sharp.
  4. Thanks for the report. Good Job!
  5. Nice looking boat! I'm sure she'll make you happy!
  6. Thanks Kevin. Yeah, I never understood why people had the lip grip in the gills. "LIP" grip, not "Gill" grip.
  7. Had the whole lake to ourselves out of South Haven this evening. Went 1 for I don't know how many. My wife caught a nice Lake trout in 25 FOW, 15 feet down on the downrigger. We were on a south troll, about a mile south of the piers. It took a jointed J5 Shadrap in fire tiger. Nice night to be out, little choppy and windy, but not too bad. Only bad thing was wind was out of the north, so it was a bit chilly. Got the skunk out of the boat on her first trip of the year. Had a great time, here's the fish. (We let him go )
  8. Nice looking boat. The fish will be just jumping into that rig.
  9. Congrats on the new boat! I hope it works out for you.
  10. With that rig, you'll be putting some big ones in the boat in no time! Nice looking boat, love all the custom rigging.
  11. Great list! Don't neglect to check your towing vehicle too. BRAKES, steering, suspension, transmission and cooling system. Nothing ruins your trip more than having the boat on the back and your tow vehicle breaks down.
  12. Nice Job! I've gotta stop reading these posts, it's killin' me.
  13. Looks great. Do you just epoxy the board to the transom?
  14. Love those colors! Great pics, thanks.
  15. Breathtaking! That must have been a blast fighting a fish like that on 30# tackle.
  16. Go get 'em Matt!
  17. So I'm glad I pulled the boat out of storage early this year. My truck was just recalled and won't be back until April. So now I have the boat, but nothing to get it to the lake. But say what you will about Toyota, but they are really taking care of me on this one. They need to replace the truck frame, so obviously the labor is intense. They are putting new brake lines in, changing fluids and alignment at no cost. I love my truck and am going to miss it for the next few weeks, but I know they will do a good job. The loaner I got won't tow a boat, but it does give me a break on the gas money So if anyone needs a rider in the near future, let me know. I'm going to be itchin' to get out.
  18. Welcome aboard! I have a 17' boat myself, you can fish them on the big lake just as easy as you can a bigger boat. Nice looking boat.
  19. Congrats on a big milestone. Many more to the both of you!
  20. Thanks Mike. I've been watching a few segments when I get time. Wished I could have been there in person, but this is just as good. Thanks again!
  21. I couldn't wait, so here she is, The Troll 'N Yooper. She may not look like much, but it's a great boat both inland and on the big lake. It's a 1993 Tracker Pro Deep V 17'. It has an Evinrude 40 HP motor that runs like a top. Two Cannon maunual downriggers, Planer board mast, and more rod holders to come in the future. It was such a gorgeous day to work on the boat. Birds were singing, Sandhill cranes were flying overhead, and even the turkeys were starting to strut their stuff. This is the earliest I have ever taken the boat out of storage. I know we still have more winter to come, but we are close enough. Spring is almost here guys, enjoy it. >>Pete.
  22. Awesome. The boat comes out of storage for me on Saturday. That should give me plenty of time to do some projects this year. Earliest I've taken it out. Spring is not that far away, I'll see you in South Haven!
  23. Lot better than what I did today (shopping with the ladies). Nice looking fish. Good Job!
