  1. I use the Foodsaver type. Just a warning, Keep it clean! I learned if you let little bits dry on the machine, it won't draw a good vaccum and you'll be banging your head trying to get it to seal. Bags are a bit pricey, but if you trun them inside-out, they go in the dishwasher and you can get about one more use out of it.
  2. Reminds me of flight school. Seven days a week, including holidays, no matter the weather. Yeah, I would have loved to fish instead, but you just gotta know that it is worth it in the end. Good luck!
  3. I vaccuum seal as well for the salmonids. For bass and other white meat fish, we use used orange juice or milk cartons beacuse of the waxy film they use to seal the cardboard. They are square so they fit in the freezer easier. We also put some salt in the water to firm up the fillets while drawing the blood out.
  4. Glad you are healthy again. Sounds like you need to go fishing to relax for a bit. Not sure what your fishing fund is, but I'll take you fishing and provide everything you need. Nobody should be without fishing. Good luck with everything else, we're pulling for you.
  5. Nice one! I love catching crappie, especially on jigs.
  6. I use Internet Explorer and have had no issues.
  7. Nice job on your first trip. That was a beautiful sunset.
  8. My mouth is watering already! Love smoked fish.
  9. Nice Job on the tournament Bromley! Those are some nice fish.
  10. Had an incredible opportunity to go to St. Thomas and visit with my in-laws. Did some fishing there when the weather permitted. We chartered a boat to go about 20 miles off-shore for about anything that would hit. First off, I have never been on a charter boat before and I have a whole new respect for crewmen and captains. My hat goes off to all you captains and mates if you work as hard as these guys did. Started the trip trolling and had a hit off the bat. As my father-in-law brought it in, I guess the shark wanted it more. Not sure what kind of shark it was, but the half-fish was a blackfin tuna. Sorry, pic was too big to post. My turn next and I pulled in a 15 lb kingfish. My mother-in-law beat me out and caught a 25 lb kingfish. The wife got in on the action and caught two barracudas. To end the day with a bang, I reeled in a good size wahoo. This was a blast! 48 lbs. of pure muscle on 30 lb. spinning tackle. I think this one may go on the wall. The diving and snorkeling along the reefs is phenomenal! Here is one of my favorite pictures from one of my snorkel adventures. Had a great time, but am glad to be home to some cooler weather. I guess I have too much Michigan blood in me.
  11. At least you did make it out. Grindstone usually gets socked in with fog pretty good too. We will be in P.A. next week. We usually hit the stone breakwall in town at dusk and wade out from shore and cast spoons for walleye and bass. Water is cold! Usually it's at least in the 50's by now. I'll let you know if we do any good. Maybe I'll see you out there!
  12. That's the one. Fished there since moving to Vicksburg in '93 but never caught any smallies this big.
  13. Had a few hours after work to go to an inland lake and goof around. Couldn't believe the size of these guys. 21" smallmouth. Not sure of the weight. 20" smallmouth. Both caught on a 4" power minnow. Great way to get my mind off of work.
  14. We were just at U of M for my wife this past Thursday. They are the BEST. I hope all goes well for you. You'll be in good hands.
  15. Nice job Justin. Those are some dandy nice fish!
  16. Great pictures! We had them come back earlier this week too. The hummingbirds started to show up little by little. I love spring.
  17. That's great. A moment he will remember when he goes back to his own country.
  18. Good Job Rob!
  19. Looks like a Golden Shiner to me. Google an image for golden shiner. I couldn't really tell by your picture because I couldn't see the fins.

  23. Thanks for the reminder, Steve. I'm glad to hear you and your family are safe. The house is replaceable, the family is not. Good Luck!
