  1. I was hoping to go out last night, but kept seeing the whitecaps on the GH web cam and chickened out...looked like it layed down a bit by 7 pm....maybe I didn't miss much?...if the fish stay tight to the pier heads, this weekend will be combat fishing!
  2. x2 what Gnarf said...I haven't lost a board yet, but I've had them slide down the line on me...I attach them in a similar fashion to Gnarf..I know some that will not just use the pinch pads, but also wrap it around to avoid slipping..
  3. A charter brought in 20 fish yesterday morning! About 5 steelhead a laker or 2 and a few kings pushing 20 lbs!
  4. Picking up a couple of the new convector wire roller rods rigged with 1000' wire tomorrow. I currently have 2 fire line divers but will be switching to these. Can never have too many "tools"!!
  5. Making memories is what it's all about! Well done
  6. Thanks for the report! Hopefully the fleas and flies will die down and the fishing will continue to improve!
  7. What depth of water, how far down lures etc? I'm up here As we'll for vacation and hope to find a few fish ! Thanks !!!!
  8. Way to go! I was out fri am in 80~120. The sea fleas were awful! Thanks for the report!!
  9. Slow day out of gh for me. Managed 15 lb king. Green NBK spin doctor w/ BW proctologist fly. 94 back diver on 1.5. Only other good hit was on a rigger 41 dn blue dolphin spoon. Both hits in 100 fow. Had to check lines often due to all the sea fleas!
  10. Nice! Looks like I quit too early. I headed in just before 10 only going 1/2 oh of grand haven.
  11. Very nice!! What are you doing for this year if that wont be ready til 2014?

  13. VERY NICE ~ Too bad you spoiled him with a fish that size for his first one!:
  14. Any wire roller rods?
  15. i e-mailed Fish on last month asking about their trees...they replied right away and said they will have product and a booth at the GR Ultimate Sport Show that starts Thurs 3/21...item's look real good and very well priced
  16. Thanks for the heads up! They usually have good deals at the GR show as well:thumb: Looking to add more copper and a couple roller rods:grin: C'mon Spring....
  17. Thanks, I needed that!
  18. I'm considering getting a couple of trees....these look good, as do the tree's from Great Lakes Planers.... www.greatlakesplaners.com I've seen the GLP'S from a couple different distributors for $129 (triple tree)...I plan on checking out the Canon's as well...well said Sherman...If you can swing the extra bucks, get what will last and work the best for your needs..."Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten"..... Happy Holidays to All!
  19. I got the same e-mail...agree with previous post ~ I'd rather pick my own items!
  20. Boating Mag just did a comparison of the "best" overall cleaners...the winner was Soft Scrub w/ Bleach. It got the cleanest & whitest results. The West Marine brand deck cleaner was a close 2nd. I have used both and think the SS is a better cleaner, haven't found anything yet as a protectant (like wax that would spray off easy)~
  21. I started using the flourocarbon leader line on everything execept the rigger rods..I figured I could use all the help I can get! Unfortunately I don't get out enough to tell if it made a huge difference:(
  22. I was at North Shore Marina (GH - the marina on the north side closest to Lake M) and they were dredging in there as well. The stated they had a few bigger boats that needed to get hauled out by the in/out dock and wouldn't make it otherwise:eek:
  23. Try this link... www.animatedknots.com
  24. Nicely done! The lake/channel has been real rough the last few weeks! Hope to make it out soon!
