I was told by a guy who fixes reels, he said that the okuma CV are the best looking reel inside and you couldn't pay him to fish with a tekota. Its not the money cost he said there built like crap.

Go become a first mate for a year on a good charter boat and you will learn a millon times more. We have lots of customers that come up fish with us, want to learn a new trick or whats hot. They bring there boat up and stay in contact with us all the time they are up. I really like fishing on other charter boats too, learning new stuff makes me a better fisherman.

I ran the church ones two years ago with success, this year we dont stay late or go early enough for them. I dont really run any lead in the dark anyways, fish like the agressive riggers and divers first thing so why bother with the long stuff

Buy/make a rigger bar that you can set all of your riggers on. Personally i would just run another diver rather than the PIA of putting another rigger on.

i almost would have rather reeled in a 10 color rather than fight a fish on them, we did go to a power handle we just reel drilled them.

We run penn 320s for riggers and really like, convectors on the other 30 rods. I was told by a buddie who fixes reels in manistee and he said that the convectors are the best build reel he's seen, he dosent like like tekota and we dont like the price tag.

The business that were in it really dose not effect us at all. I mean 90% of out charters are 4-6 people. So that means i can run anywhere from 18to24 rods. Most days i have from 8 to 13. I run the whole back deck without help and i feel over 13 on the bank is way to many. Out steelhead fishing yess ill run 16or18
