Check out Dive Bombs from Michigan Stinger, there a planning weight that gives you about 7-9 feet of dept per oz. I run the half way down the line, 5 colors dive bomb goes 2.5 colors down. Some charters in the off peak time will run specials, usually week day nights for a shorter period of time. Talk to charter capt, if your looking to do that in Manistee, Pm me i know a guy that could help you

The shortest ill go is 10ft on my wire divers. If you don't want to run longer leaders for divers go slide divers. I'm going to run slide divers on my wires this year so I don't have that problem. I'm usually don't have any help when im running the back deck.

Thanks a bunch Gred, always like to hear from guys that have went a did it. I still have time to think it out and plan the classes. I will send all of the captains/ ex captains a PM when it gets close to the time i get it so i can be just a little more educated going in.

I hope to follow as Josh did, have to see what this holds as i start school in the fall and see if its possible with the classes i take in the fall. I really enjoy the whole charter thing, the day i stop enjoying it, ill start a new obsession. I did kind of have it set in my mind what i was going to do and i just wanted to see of it was the best outlook. So ill fish this summer and look into the captain classes in the fall when im going to school. That you all for the 2 cents that you all contributed.

I am turning 18 in the fall this year, as some of you know I grew up fishing lake Michigan and I first mate on a boat in Manistee. I have my hours done for my time. You think it would be worth the money to get it or not? I Plan in going to college?

I run them ALOT, run them both with mono and braid , run a 50ft of 40lb mono for a leader for a diver. The mono holds the diver in place alot better.

Yupp with everyone, put the deepest rod down the chute, I usually always have a rod down the chute. It's not to bad at all just weave it threw if it goes that way. Not hard at all

Big jon 3 or 4 tree, you can take them of the boat if you want and can turn them every 90 degrees. the rod holders them self are also adjustable. Check out Tony at lord of the riggers, im sure he can set you up very nice.

We alot of meet on the charter boat from june threw sept, 11inchers a little bit slower, most of the time its between 1.7 and 2. Depending on the situation, if meats flying, every rod gets meet, if there hitting, spoons, flies and meat, usually just low divers and a chute rigger get a meat rig.
