  1. I heard rumor that there was a swap meet in St. Joe this weekend, a little closer for you. If you would like more info I can do some snooping
  2. As sad as this sounds but don is correct, kidding of course Don. We do the same thing. I would really think about running 4 wires, our best rods when the fish go deep.
  3. Why not put in on in reverse, wind on "leader, lead or copper then backing" not need for calculating, I like easy. Then take it off and spool it.
  4. Depending on what you have already. I know we have lead cores out to 10 colors and then copper lengths in 200,225,300,450. We add dive bombs to get deeper. Inexpensive wire rod, add a twill tip to an okay standard "lead core" rod with ceramic guides.

  6. Hope that 36 taria has diesels
  7. Have to pay for the air time somehow...
  8. There are lots of thing that they could do better for the novice person watching. I think they're showing the tournament inside the tournament, it doesn't show the host tournament at all, just the results for the 333.
  9. I can see if your fishing really deep, to use all flies or meat for me. I usually use the 60ft rule, i usually don't run that many flashers above 60ft down and the deeper i go i run less spoons and more flashers. I like 2.0 on the dept raider, that works equally for spoons and flies and ill bump it down to 1.8-2 for all flies and meat. All flasher program works well really deep, last spring when we were fishing 100-250 down, it was a 9 flasher program, no spoons.
  10. 50 pound ande. 11inchers-48-50, 8inchers-22-24.#1 owners or #1 sparkpoint. Get tucked away in their own small bag, I build them as I need them.
  11. Been fishing near big rapids for over a week now, on safe ice, 3inches plus.
  12. Very cool to see other's that are focused into the outdoors as I am at a young age. He should first mate on a charter boat lol.
  13. I haven't seen a difference, have them on riggers for the last few years. Not realizing I put clear for leaders on the cores. They all took fish equally.
  14. They are fishing in Cadillac on Mitchell, west end
  15. Its always a great time to be in the woods in the winter time, deer hunting or snowshoeing for that matter. I find my self deer hunting less and less every year, it has turned in to, i hunt 5-6 days out of 2-3 weeks then spend 9 months on the big lake and the rest of the time ice fishing.
  16. A very cool watch. http://vimeo.com/3779185
  17. What one is the new roller, i we had some problems with the white roller not wanting to spin on the way up and down sometimes.
  18. Another vote for hummingbird, played with the 995 and the 1197, very good units and easy to use.
  19. I thought you can buy tomics at chucks in ludington or fish on in spring lake and maybe the out doormen in Jenison. If you find them buy them, every charter boat in grand haven buys the number 4 tomics buy they handful, very good bait for the mud.
  20. Seen a guy use a S10 for a 18ft startcraft, kinda funny to see him burn off a 1/8 of rubber of his back tires getting it out of the ramp. It looked like it pulled it OK.
  21. Thanks for the thought, i wondered the same thing. One day in august i ran a morning trip on the Killin' Time, we have black round 14 pounders, they were producing fish all morning. For the Night i help on the riverside, three yellow stinger weights on his riggers and they took fish.
  22. He has both, i know he bought a few guys and sold there stuff, call him.
  23. Check out tony and lord of the riggers, very stand up guy, personally fished with him, he has some great deals too.
  24. I know insta launch marina in Manistee is very shallow and the biggest you can get in there is about a 20ft glass boat maybe. I would check out Thompson Marina in Ludington though, fairly close to down town dinning and bars, also 20 minutes from getting your boat on plane.
  25. The one thing about alot of Manistee Charter is, they all have a set of big boards that we use all year long. We have stacked 2,3,4 and 5 colors on one side and had no problems with resetting them. For example when the fish are 45ft down, we still put 2 10 colors out on one side and 2 8 colors with 2 oz dive bombs and just keep sliding them down. There more fun to fight fish on, easier for customers. We pull customer boards, with 250 pound planar line with offshore OR 17 releases.
