Our biggest king this year was just under 21#, it hit a stingray size NBK spoon on a full core.

She brought one of them in. I was just lucky she didn't take both of them! -
Headed out last night with the intention of heading out to the bank, but as we headed out of the canal we realized it was a little rougher than we wanted to deal with. So instead we made a few passes up and down the canal and circled in the bay a few times. We ended up 2 for 2 with a couple of crusty kings, one 19# and one 14#. Both fish came on a mag black and green spoon on a 3 color.

Headed out of Sturgeon bay last night with my wife for a short trip out to the bank, and our first fishing trip of our honeymoon. I was pretty excited about the idea of going to sturgeon bay, how many other guys get to go salmon fishing on their honeymoon. We fished from 5:45 to 8:45 and worked from 200 FOW into 90 FOW. We marked a few fish out deep but didn't take any hits. All of our fish came between 90 and 110. Sarge on a 3 color SWR was our best taking 2 fish.We also took one on a 11" white glow pro chip with a homemade pearl glow fly, and one on a turkish pepper. All hits came on riggers 60 to 90 down. We ended the night 4 for 4. Sorry the pics are kind of small

I just saw this on a different forum. What an amazing fish. Here is an article. http://www.ludingtondailynews.com/news.php?story_id=45793

I would love to have a camera on my riggers but the price would be the main deterrent for me. There are way to many other things that I need to get before I can justify spending money on a rigger camera. With that said I think the insight on the mood of the fish and the action of the lure could be very valuable.

Ouch that really sucks, I'm glad I don't have to deal with nets where I fish. Do you think you could pull the cuda size torpedos with a mast and planer system instead of inlines? Did you try any of the smaller sizes off of inline boards?

Headed out Sunday morning at about 2:00 AM after I got done with a wedding hopping to take advantage of the full moon. On the way through the canal we dropped a couple of lines down to see if we could pick up any spawners. We couldn't find any kings that were interested but when we pulled our lines we had a fat 23" walleye. He took a mag flounder pounder, I couldn't believe it. We got out to the bank and set lines at about 3:00. From 3:00 to 5:00 we kind of picked away at them with glow flies on the riggers dn 65 and 70, and moonshines on 300 copper. From 5:00 to 6:00 the fish really turned on, riggers dn 60 to 70 and dipsie set 1.5 and 140 LOC being the main producers. 11" glow FF combos were working the best. At around 6:00 things really died off. We took one more fish at 7:15 and then pulled lines at about 9:00. We picked up most of our fish between 110 and 140 FOW. We ended the morning 13 for 15. Out best lures were a 11" chartreuse glow hotspot w/ homemade green glow fly, 11" white glow protroll w/ homemade pearl glow fly, MS mongolian beef. Went out again Sunday evening and set lines at 6:15 in 190 FOW and worked are way in towards the bank. From the time we set lines until about 8:00 we had pretty consistent fishing. Majority of the fish came on 300 copper with a MS happee meal, We also took fish on an SWR 110 dn with a MS mongolian beef, !/2 core with silver horde spoon with orange and red stripe, and a mag wire diver set on 1.5 140 LOC with 11" white glow protroll W/ green glow fly. We pulled lines at 9:00 and headed in going 6 for 6.

I was looking at the dive charts for the torpedo diver and I was wondering how close it might be running to a dipsy set on #3 if you were running the torpedo ona board. I know the torpedo and dipsy are most likely going to be running at different depths, but is there a chance that the main lines could get crossed? Im not sure how far a dipsy will travel laterally, maybe you would just have to let the board out a bit further.

How many of you are small busines owners?

I just started a small business this spring doing construction and remodeling. Work for me has been pretty steady for the most part. One thing that has helped me out was getting locked in with a restoration company. The restoration company brings us in as a sub to do the put-back on homes with water or fire damage. The work is generally not much fun, lots of hard work, and really messy. On the plus side, the work I am getting is almost entirely insurance work, and the state of the economy doesn't effect the amount of work I receive. -
We headed out to SB Saturday afternoon and got off to a bad start before even getting the boat wet. When I stopped to put gas in the truck I noticed that one of our downrigger cables had snapped sometime during the drive. So we had to make an unexpected stop to pick up a new rigger release. We ended up setting lines at at 6:45 in 100 FOW. Not long after the lines were set we took our first fish in 110 FOW. The rest of the night we stayed in the 100 to 110 range where we had pretty consistent action and some good size fish. We ended up 6 for 7 pulling lines at 10:30. The last fish we had on was the fish we missed and it ended up being a heart breaker. It hit our 300 copper and took off. We ended up having to turn the boat towards the fish and tighten the drag in fear of getting spooled. We were able to get him turned and make up some ground for awile. Shortly after we got back into the copper he made another run and came close to spooling us again. After about 30 min or so we had him pretty close to the boat and he took a run under the boat and found one of the downrigger cables and that was the end of it. Here's what worked for us: Mag wire dipsey set at 1.5, 140 LOC, 11" hotspot flasher, Rapture Wild Firn, (12# king) Full core, NBK spoon (20.5# king) 300 copper, mag Turkish Pepper (2# king, miss) Rigger 80 dn, 11" Pro-Troll, green homemade fly, (19.7#king) Braid dipsey, 250 LOC, Liberty spoon, (18# king) SWR 90dn, Flounder Pounder, (7# king) Kirsten took this fish on a full core i was quite impressed After a short nap we headed out again Sunday morning. We set lines at 5:00 in 90 FOW and ran the same program as the night before. We took a few hits early and then struggled the rest of the morning. By 8:45 we had enough of getting beat up by the waves and headed in. We ended up working as far out at 180 FOW and went 2 for 3. Heres what worked for us: Mag wire dipsey, 140 LOC, 11" hot spot with Rapture Wild fern (miss) SWR 80 dn, Flounder Pounder, (8# king, shaker)

I just started using the 11" flashers this year, but have not got them to fire. My guess is that i have to try and change-up the leader length and color to see what is going to work, so i was wondering what your favorite leader length is? I was also wondering how well the 11" flashers work on dipseys, and if they change the dipsey's dive plane much? Thanks,

I was looking at the Shakespeare Tidewater reels the other day and I was wondering if any of you have used these, and what you thought of them. Thanks,

We set lines out on the bank around 4:30 Saturday afternoon and worked from 120 out to 180 and then back to 120 closer to dark. We took two kings in the 170's on rigger 80 down with a swr and a nbk spoon. When we got back to 120 closer to dark we took two more at 120. One came on 300' of copper with a mongolian beef spoon. The other came on a rigger 65 down with an swr and the nbk spoon again. All together it was a pretty nice night on the lake with no misses and two of the kings weighing over 15#. After a few hours of sleep we headed out again on Sunday morning. We set lines at about 5:00 in 100 FOW and worked out to 200. Our first fish came on a wire diver with a mountain dew colored flasher and a green fly. The next two fish we missed on a rigger 80 down with a swr and a nbk spoon. 300' of copper also took two fish with an old silver horde spoon than had a res and orange stripe on it. We ended up 3 for 5 on the morning and took off for home.

I don't think the mobile site is that hard to navigate, it just ends up being a lot of scrolling.

What kind of knots do you use for copper?

I have a blackberry curve. I mainly use it for weather reports and radar, but I often use it to navigate this site.

I have been considering installing GPS software on my laptop and taking it out on the boat with me. Has anyone else done this, and if so how well did it work and what software did you use?
