  1. Nice job on a tough day Jim. It was slow for us up in Sturgeon Bay as well, we had to work really hard for the few fish we caught.
  2. Jim - When we get the kings that are turning darker we usually have them smoked or canned. I have not caught any yet that I had to throw away but I am not fishing in the rivers, just harbor patrol.
  3. That's a fine year TJ, nice work.
  4. We ran out to the bank and fished from 5:30 to 11. Fishing was pretty tough for us this morning as we only managed three small kings. We marked a decent number of fish on our first pass but could not get anything going. Two of the fish we took were in the 150's and the third was at 100. First fish came on a rigger with a happee meal spoon down 75 at about 6:30, followed by a hit on the 300 copper with a NBK a little later. Our last hit came on a dipsy back 140 with a 11" chrome hotspot and an Oceana fly. At least we had a nice morning on the water and a few for the grill tonight.
  5. Nice Video mike thanks! Looked like a nice night to be on the water.
  6. I will probably be in the market for I probe next year as well. I think I am kind of leaning toward the Intelli Troll from Cannon. I would really like to have the depth at the ball that the Cannon unit gives you.
  7. Thanks for the video Mike! I wish I could have seen it in person.
  8. Welcome to GLF Steve, glad to have ya! I would love to get up to that Bay de Noc area someday, I just get to hung up chasing those silver fish around. Let us know if you need anything.
  9. I typically run four riggers with two riggers turned out 90 degrees and two riggers strait out the back just in from the corners, similar to Steve (ALLEYES). This puts about a 4 to 5 foot spread between the two riggers. Majority of the time it is not a problem, but if I am running in a strong cross current sometimes they get crossed up. When this happens I drop down to running just two riggers. I also run dipsies and very seldom get a rigger tangled in the dipsie line. You may want to try running you riggers at 45's off the corners, that should give you a bit more spread and make setting the dipsies easier.
  10. I have been using the clear Opti snubbers with good success.
  11. Helping people to become better fishermen is what it's all about. Welcome to GLF Dan!
  12. Nice work Josh, sounds like a fun morning!
  13. Welcome to GLF Mazen! I would agree with Ken, this would be a pretty good starting point. Take a look around , there is a wealth of knowledge on this site. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, there are lots of helpful guys here that would be willing to give you a few pointers.
  14. Welcome Frank, glad to have ya!
  15. Nice job on the fish and the tourney Ken!
  16. I hear ya, we decided to stay home this weekend as well. Last I checked the mid lake buoy had 7's rolling through.
  17. Welcome to GLF Nicholas! Fishing on the great lakes really is something special. Let us know if you need anything.
  18. Dave, I started making my own flies last year and have been running them with good success all year. It really is exciting catching fish on one of your own products. There are a number of places that carry fly components. Check out Siggs Rigs, they have a good selection and are a good product.
  19. Thanks for the info Robert.
  20. Fine work Jim, Russ, and crew!
  21. Welcome to GLF Joel! Good luck this weekend!
  22. Nice box Tom! I have not done a think on copper or core either this year besides a few hits during sunrise and sunset.
  23. One fish in the boat and an afternoon on the lake is better than sitting at home any day. You'll get them next time.
  24. Nice work Josh! Do you use a lot of the UV lures?
