  1. Yep got the info.
  2. I would be interested Jim, where can I get some more info?
  3. Take a look at the traxtech site, I think I seen a gimbal mount with a swiveling track as I was looking through their site.
  4. Welcome to GLF Steve! I agree with Frank, dive bombs and similar products are a good way of achieving additional depth. I use medium or medium-heavy rods for my long lines, something like a 12 to 30# line rating would probably work.
  5. Power Pro here as well.
  6. Welcome to GLF Rick! Good to have another WI guy on the site, just let us know if you have any questions.
  7. Welcome to GLF Adam!
  8. I currently have Walkers and they work ok. A couple things I would like to change would be the weight capacity and the rod holders. For weight a 12# really slows them down, and for the rod holders I would like them to be a bit more adjustable. As far a customer service goes Walker has been pretty good to work with. For the price I think they are a decent unit.
  9. The thing that worries me is that it says all of Lake Michigan in 5' and 10' contours, I would like to have more detail than that.
  10. I may have to try that, how heavy of leaders do you use for your dipsies?
  11. I have seen the Garmin Lakemaster maps and thought they were pretty good. Is the Humminbird Lakemaster pretty much the same?
  12. Which do you prefer. I am looking to cover Lake Michigan and WI inland lakes.
  13. Nice work Mark!
  14. For me its some much needed electronics for the boat, a new GPS combo unit and a S&T probe.
  15. You can order the book right from Keating's site.
  16. Happy to have you Mike, welcome to GLF! The tree looks awesome, Merry Christmas!
  17. If you have room on the spool I would go with the 25#. The 20# will certainly work for the shorter cores though.
  18. That sounds good! Thanks for sharing.
  19. That is something that may change day to day but I generally like to use a sparse fly. I had a few flies last year that had just a few strands of mylar left but always seemed to catch fish when I put them down. Here is one that got a lot of use last year.
  20. This thread brings up a good question, how long do you leave your braid on before you switch it out?
  21. I have rigged up a drill and a spool to take copper or lead core off and that works pretty good. Any way you do it ends up being a lot of reeling at the end. My guess is your backing is probably in pretty good shape yet. The main areas to check are where you attach your boards and the splices.
  22. I agree with Ken and Aaron and the info they posted. I would also like to add that if you are running long copper lines you should use a heavier backing like 50#.
