I run a lot of protrolls prochips in my spread, and seem to have better luck with the 11" flashers than the 8" with the protrolls. For 8" flashers I like to run Hot Spots. I like the big paddles for running deep and slow trying to pull big kings off the bottom and the protrolls seem to handle the slower speeds quite well.

I have Boat US, have not had to use it so far and hopefully it stays that way. I also like that they offer trailer assistance. They also have a tow boat right in Holland.

My best combo last year was a 11" Protroll with a green glow fly. I had this setup on a wire dipsy all year.

0 from the last storm, I was kind of disappointed.

I agree you can never have to many rod holders.

I use the tubes for storage in between trips, I always coil the leaders before putting them in the tubes to keep them from kinking. While I'm on the boat I have them hanging for easy access and to keep the leaders nice and strait.

My starting spread adapts a bit as the year goes on according to what has been working good. I usually have a few rods in the spread which I use to experiment with but my main goto lures don't get changed out unless something starts outproducing them on a regular basis.

I would think your lead length is going to depend on the mood of the fish more than anything else from day to day. For example, during the hot morning bite I would run the spoon much closer to the flasher, maybe just 5 to 10' past the flasher. As the sun comes up and the fish become more spooky then the longer leads may be a better setup. You could even try a 2 or three color swr to get the spoon below the flasher and cannon ball.

Joseph I don't think that would be to much stuff in the water. I have never tried doing this but if I did I would use short leads of the for the flashers, like 5' to 10', then use a stacker release 5' or more above the flasher. Sounds like a good idea, I may have to try this next year the days I don't have a full boat.

The only problem I ever have is when I get to the end of the video everything locks up and I have to close down and restart my internet browser. Now that I think about it the steelhead in my avitar was caught on a Happee Meal, also the biggest for us last year. This one came on a rigger down 140.

A Moonshine Happee Meal would be my choice, it worked at all times of the day at any depth and on different presentations. The only problem I have with the Happee Meal is that it always seems to be sold out when I need to pick one up.

To me it seems like they were hitting different layers off current as they went down in the water column. I think it would be very difficult to get an accurate depth curve due to all the factors that come into play.

Yeah you should be able to see it pretty good on the Lake Michigan Bathy charts, strait East of the canal would put you on the south end of the bank.
