I am using the bloodrun tournament mono, not the flea flicker. One reason I like bloodrun is that is has a thinner diameter than many of the other mono lines I have seen at that weight. Thinner line means less belly between the rod and release on the riggers.

I’ve been using bloodrun mono on my riggers for the last few years and I have been very happy with it.

Sturgeon Bay should be seeing plenty of fish by that time of year. Baileys Harbor would be another option, but might be a little more hit or miss depending on temperatures. Sturgeon Bay has plenty of charters to choose from, that’s probably where I would look if your willing to drive down the peninsula a ways.

Welcome to GLF Alex! Yes you will need to bring the downrigger weight up every time you take a fish on that rod or if you want to change a lure. You might want to consider booking a trip with a charter. Let them know that your getting started and want to learn and I’m sure they would be happy to help out. If you like books, Dan Keating has some very informative ones that you could take a look at. http:// http://www.bluehorizonsportfishing.net/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I have the wired version of the troll master and have been very happy with it. It was already installed on the boat when we got it so I don’t have any installation insight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would go with the newer style, I like the changes they made in the handle, anti reverse and the counter. Whatever you decide to go with I hope it works out for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am running convectors as well, but the sizing is the same. I don’t think the 20’s would have enough capacity. I think the 30’s will also have larger drag washers and gears, most likely (I have not taken any apart to confirm that). I do have some 20dx’s for walleye fishing and I don’t think I would trust them if I was fishing for kings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have backing on all my wires, I prefer to have a full spool. I always run more line out on the high/outside diver, which helps prevent tangles on turns. Low diver on 1.5, high on 3. The rods you have will work fine, but you will need to have your high diver rod holder one notch up to keep your rods apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
