  1. Love my Costas. I have bought two pairs of good sunglasses in my life. First pair lasted six years and I am on year four for the second. In between I went through countless cheap ones. I find I take better care of something I spent the extra dollars on and don't sit on them, lose them, etc.
  2. That is cool. Love the bear guy.
  3. Stinger Blue Dolphin. It goes on the port rigger everytime. First in last out. 9 trips out of 10 it catches a fish. Even when the entire set is changed over to Moonshines the Stinger Blue Dolphin stays in the water.
  4. Wouldn't do it. Running the core still in the rod will wear it out. Have done it before, but decided I was pushing my luck and quit. You can splice mono between the segments and attach a board, but you will have sag in the line. I personally don't run core or copper down the shoot because I worry about a fish getting into it. Maybe it is just me, but the extra line out is not worth the potential disaster that is bound to come my way.
  5. Hey Jeff - We missed Ludington this year. Took a trip to Main in June and just got back today from a week in the UP. Both were nice trips, but looking forward to a trip to Ludington again next year. See you on the pond!

  6. I have the older Fishhawk display/triducer with the new probe. Had problems with the old probe, but with the new one works perfect. I will second their customer service. Very good. Do I catch more fish now that I have it.... not really, but it is something fun to play with and I feel like I am being more tactical with my fishing.
  7. Great job on the triple! Thanks for the picture and the info.
  8. 2 divers as long as you have them. Can target the depth you want and not too much line out for around the pier heads. Tough to combat fish with leadcore.
  9. Very nice night on the water for a boat ride.... Set lines at 6:15pm in 80' of water. The spread had the entire water column covered. Trolled out to 130' and then back in to 45' and pulled lines at 9:15pm. Water was cold (47 degrees) 30' down. Pretty consistent from 120 all the way back in. Kept the skunk off fortunately. At 9:15 we pulled lines. While pulling in the 5 color a 3lb laker hit (at least one color was already on the reel). Very fresh fish and it went right back in the water.
  10. Congratulations on that steelie Kevin!
  11. Nice job Jeff! Congratulations on the boat record.
  12. Great job Ben! Love to hear of a big brown like that in the area.
  13. I run a a 10, 5 and 2. On the 10 I do have it segmented with mono so that I can attached the board at that point, but I still run into the core being in the guides. I have not had any problems yet, however I know that I am pushing my luck a little bit doing that.
  14. I have used both the offshore release and the rubber band method. Both work fine. Somebody at one point suggested to run the fixed slider a couple feet above the ball. Same lure on the slider and mainline with the larger version on the slider. If I remember right they called it a MUP rig, or something like that. Logic was that smaller fish follow the bigger fish in a bait school. No clue if that logic holds water. My sliders outfish the mainline about 70/30.
  15. Slow night for us last night. Set up in 190 and trolled out to 240 before turning around. 1 for 2 First fish at 200' - 300 Copper - Moonshine Blue Flounder - 5lb Steelhead - 2.5 at the ball Missed a good rip on the same rig on the way back east, again in 200' Temp was 50 at 80' down and 45 at 100' down Heard some getting fish out at 270', but I turned around too quick. Hope to be out again in the next few days to try and get on some numbers. Chris Fake Bait on 68
  16. I have to be wearing my "Just Fish" hat. I have even turned around and gone back for it. Also, never get greedy with the number of fish you want. I only want one - if I get more it is gravy.
