  1. Went out around 7 pm set up in 225FOW riggers down 150 feet dispeys out 150 set on 3...had a hit on the rigger and landed a 20 lb king, on something my wife calls the Blue monster she just bought...only problem was it tangled in a wire line dipsey but we brought it in anyways..found out cooler was too small, getting another bigger one tomorrow. We had a great time last night, took one for one and ran from the storm that hit around 10pm, lightening isn't fun.... when on the boat. We're going back to Ludinton this coming weekend, can't wait, this time we'll fish sount near the projects....
  2. We're wating for the weather to break and want to get back out there, maybe later this afternoon and maybe this evening.. definintly tomorrow. Thanks guys, and yes I'm glad we avoided the SKUNK
  3. Went out this morning, set up in 125FOW Took a 5lb king on Monkey Puke 94 feet down. He was a little small but we didn't get skunked, just a little upset that we aren't catching any big kings, as others are.... Went to see Dan from Reaal World but he wasn't there, hope to see him this weekend, right now Storms are brewing and the wind is a major factore... Waves are up and well it's summer time in 2009... the worst weather year for fishing we've had...
  4. great catch men...... now get to grillin those fish.
  5. Great that's where I believe we'll launch from, or at least check it out when we're over there this week, can't wait to set the lines in Ludington....should be able to land some fish there...
  6. south of the Badger, is that where the Ludington yacht club used to be.... small marina white biulding.
  7. Putting in Ludington on thursday August 6th... at Night. Does anyone know of a better ramp then the municipal ramp, the docks are extremely low for our boat, and well it makes it a little difficult, so does anyone know of a better ramp? Boltman
  8. That is the smallest, and the most expensive fish you'll ever catch and wish everyday for her NEVER to swim away....
  9. Wow, what a question.. First I would have never committed to the time limit, bad enough you to have a fish Limit.....and its always better to blame the mother in law for not answering her phone when you called........If you called.
  10. awesome fishing guys, man I can't wait to get to Ludville.. in two weeks I'll be there for awhile as well.....I'm not sure there will be any fish left after this Kill.
  11. Very nice Fish you cuaght there, I can't wait for a big one like that myself.
  12. Rob how big is that salmon on your avatar pic... and where did you get it out of?

  13. rick thanks for the salmon report about charleviox, I'll be in Elk Rapids in 1 week again and we will try for some kings again....
  14. NIce job Bill care to share any of those great tips....I'd love to hear them....
  15. Great job, sorry to hear you lost the NET.... I have a small line attached to mine, if it goes overboard, I can simply haul it back in, it's happened a lot too...Great looking fish, Glad to hear you had a great day on the water.
  16. I often wonder... Why don't they stock Salmon in the Northern areas.... seems like a good idea right? Maybe we should talk them into raising Bate Fish up there. It seems like a great place to raise a nice family of Salmon... Aye?
  17. Rick I think yo may be right...I'm fishing out of grand Traverse Bay and have found nothing but Lakers, they are telling me that it will be better in August and september, but the waiting is tough.... and we'll keep on searching....and we'll keep fishing. The Weather has been horrible up there, every weekend we've been there has been 4-5 footers and wind like you wouldn't believe. It is my first season of Salmon Fishing and it's been a little frustrating to say the least. We will be moving the boat to Ludington next week, I'm going to give it my best in Ludington.... but U have t friend that was in a tournament in Ludinton on thursday, and he's giving me all the salmon they caught, isn't he great....
  18. Very Nice fish, love the lil flasher fish as well, way to kill'em over there.
  19. It's all mumbo jumbo to me, all I know is there ain't any salmon in Grand Traverse yet and yes...I'm whinning......... so get over it I'm allowed to...because it's my first year and hell lates face it I'd be happy with a 15" King right now, just 1.....
  20. Yes I'm using Mag Dives with the ring still on...and I'm setting them on 3 to get them out and away from the riggers.... I don't have core and I don't use boards yet...I'm trying to keep it simple and use the Less is More attitude, Ken I appreciate your advice so much, Mike told me to use smaller Dipseys' too............. NO RINGS unless I want to go deep. I'm up in Grand Traverse Bay Not doing well Hoping to move into Ludington this week or next.... To catch some nice Fish instead of a Cold....The water is Cold up there and a little Dead...
  21. Well I just started using wire line dispeys, and I'm finding that I'm getting almost 3/4 depths with them, when I'm deeper as in 200-250 then I'm using Mag divers set on 3 I'm getting close to 175 feet down, it has been frustrating to me so far, but then again there's always a learning curve to everything.
  22. Rob I'm sorry for your loss and your skunk, as for the camera, that is why I bought the DVD camera, because you have to change out the DVD often so I lose nothing if stolen... and as for the skunk, come fishing with me in Grand Traverse I'll show you how to be skunked every time buddy.... every time.;
  23. I wasn't upset at all, she was though.... but she was trying to get to a managable depth from 500 feet of water, when it went to less then 80 feet of water, I just hopped on the back of the swim platoforma nd well started cutting, it was a mess, But i still Love her...
  24. Great Job, someday soon I'll hang something from that fish station
  25. Finally got out in decent weather in the East Bay, Elk Rapids Michigan, went out at 11am Trolled north and were 2 for 2 with the Lake Trout, first one came in 75 FOW 50 feet down 8.5 pounds on an Orange Crush of a Dipsy, second came 5 minutes after I had the orange crush back in the water, around 6.5 pounds. Trolled for 2 more hours and well it fizzled right out, but it's a great catch for Elk Rapids, in the Midday troll. Went out later on in the evening, trolled for about an hour when the Admiral made a sharp turn to avoid shallow waters, what a mess that was, 3 lines tangles and I lost only 1 flasher off the swim platform and about 100 feet of line........... It's Fishing....
