It's only December, there's not even any snow on the ground...This normally doesn't happen until spring, but I find myself in FISH ON....Fighting the urge to buy buy buy. I want to buy more Spin Doctors, More Flashers, Certainly more Spoons and a few more Flies......Not to Mention a few morre Rods and Reel, of which I don't have room for or can't even use them cause I'm at my limit already..... Oh My God, what the Helll have you Guys done to me????? WHAT????? I have to stop these feelings I'm having and there isn't any theraoy around for it.... except Corey at Fish On... he wants to help me... Do you guys have this affliction???

I want to take some time right now to THANK YOU GUYS. this has been an informative thread for me...I'm going to try this this summer/Spring and see how we do, it's going to be so much fun in Ludington this spring/Summer,at least we'll get some good fish early instead of Elk Rapids.... getting nothing all summer. I cannot tell you how Throttled I am for his coming season......................Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho

So Mike... you run Flashers with your spoons on your riggers and then run a fixed slider above the Flasher?? how far above the Flasher do are you running, I ask because I want to try this set up this coming year.

Tom I tried to do that with my family... and my sister went behind my back and bought for my adult kids... making them feel giulty because they couldn't not aford to buy anything... needless to say I had her butt for new years in sibling fight... I won, but still I think that the best idea, a giftless Christmas. And let other enjoy a gift in need.

Tony, I'd get a closed array before I'd buy an Open ray anyday....I have the closed in Raymarine, it's great and I don't have to worry about things hitting it while hauling or what not...And my Raymarine, can pick off a seagull flying to close... which then activates the Radar Arch mounted lazer destroyer 961... and zaps that damn seagull. (just kidding about the Lazer, but wouldn't it be great). And We have reality checked all our kids now.... Reduced the dollar amount spent in HALF or more...it's crasey... and the expect so much, I'm so ssad that I will be not living up to their expectations this Christmas......NOT!!! They spend more money per month on their CELL PHONE BILLS, then I do in one year of fishing equipment purchases.... and my purchases produce food... Cell phones... produce more Bills... text text text....OMG don't get me started on this issue... Too late...I'm already there....Last night my two 21 year olds were over and they had an arguement... texting each other all the time, and they we're in the same Darn Room....... I don't get it...367.00 dollar phone bill this month... glad I don't have to pay it.....

So what about your wishes or sacrifices, everyone's on hard times this year..and I like Giving...now that I'm a grandpa 7 times over..

No you don't understand I cannot call a plumber, it's my wife rental unit..... and I promissed her I'd do this, an of coarse it's no Charge.. so I took it out on her bank account... she didn't mind though and yes it's a great way to manage your anger... Now I'm moving on to the faucets... I can see there's going to be some new spoons and flies on this project again... hehehe I'm really aiming for the Airmar Fish transducer and module... that's going to take screwing up a wall or something.... something big and I don't think it's worth it.. ha ha

Well Saturday... I was re-plumbing our rental house with copper, had 1 90 degree fitting that would not stop leaking on me, even after I re-installed it twice... 3rd time pissed me off, so rather then to tare the basement all to hell in a fit of rage and anger, i went to Gander Mountain.. pickd up a new PK Fly, and a new spoon and some s/s swivels........thats really teachin'em isn't it...showed them who's boss.... yeahhhhhh!!!!!! That was what they cal a lose win situation............ If it happens again, I think I'm going to get pissed and get me a new tackle box too......

Thanks Bk thats some good information to know, I haven't seen the UV flashers, but it makes a whole lot of sense, because at depths of 100 feet or more, there's not a whole lot of light to capture. Does anyone know where I can get these, I'd like to add a couple to my arsenal....

No Way No more shopping for me this winter or spring...Trying to pay off too many bills for that at this time in my life...I don't want to add anymore rods nor Rod Holders, I already have enough of them now, and yes the Wife is an important factor in this equation as well. I haven't run a High and Low DIver off the rod Holders Yet, but will certainly try this coming year.

Guys I need some help with my fishing set up, as you know I have a Sea Ray Sundancer 320 it has a rather large swim platform in the rear that stick out past the back of the boat by 3 feet, this is why I cannot have a rigger off the back end. So Here's what I have and need help with.. I have two Big Jon captians packs on the side at the very back of the boat, they go in the water right at the corner of the actual Hull, next towards the front of the boat I have a dual Rod Holder for two more poles which I normally run on Wire dipsey off each side. Question is, How can I set it up to run 4 poles off each side, seeing that the riggers have two rod holders each? It's very tight quarters having to have all the poles off the side of the boat. Please.. with all your knowledge give me some advice on How to set this up so I can maximize my riggers and Rod holders so I can run 8 rods at once. Your Advice and Knowledge is greatly appreciated as ALWAYS... thanks Your Boltman:eek::eek:

I have the new Fishawk probe and ran it all last year, same batteries all year and never lost contact with the probe all year, but I don't fish as often as Mike does. I love the display as I'm 45 going on 46 now and I can see it all the way across the boat, and at night it's even better backlit with a Blue screen... It track well, and it's very easy to use as it doesn't need the coated Rigger cable, I believe like Mike said, Fishawk got it done... this time.

I bought the books and the DVD's of keating and I still watch them today, I was new to this just last year and they helped...BUt the best advice comes from these Guys on theis site, they have helped me so much and shortened my learning curve years....Mike, Ken,Jim,Etc.... they are all great and if I may say so....They are the best I've ever known.....

ok then, It's Flies and Falshers with Clean spoons on the riggers, We're going to try this technique next year and see what happens. Thanks Guys for he advice, it's always appreciated

Just in to Fish On yesterday and bought some new dodgers and Spoons, then they tell me they never run flashers or Dodgers with spoons, Too many variations of techniques out there.... So... My Question is, How many guys out there run clean spoons, or do you run flashers and or Dodgers with your spoons. I've had great luck with flashers on my spoons, but hey...Let me know what you've had the BEST of Luck with... Your boltman!!!!!!!!!
