Boltman replied to Boltman's topic in Lake Michigan Discussion
OK I'm not really going scuba diving at the Nets, I was just kidding about taking the salmon away from them ther engines....yeah know...I can't even scuba dive at all... -
Yeah that's going to hurt, because there is a small waterfall under the street bridge as well. This summer there was barely a trickle into Lake Michigan.

Mike You didn't confuse me... I know Keating fishes in what we call the Flatlands... I'm going to map out the structure after we've gotten over it with the Chartplotter, but until then I'm going Scuba Diving at "The Nets" Why not the fish will be right there waiting for me...stuck in the Nets.....I think it's a great idea... Oh and Thanks for the advice Mike...Glad you found your trailer... I've just been watching on your site while I'm not able to fish.. but I will have pics of Riggers on Our Baby soon....It'll be awesome. -

This is good, This is the information I need, yet I'm hungry for more info...according to Keating.... Mr.King Salmon likes structure so Where's the structure I'm going to look at the chart today to see what is exactly SOUTH of the pier... thanks Nailer.... -

When your pulling a 20K pound boat and someone passes you going up the hill, only to get on front of you, going down the hill while riding their brakes...Through the hills of M72 in Kalkaska..

I used the 3M 5200 as a Sealant and an Adhesive, I coated the inside edge of the hole I drilled with the hole saw, with 5200 to seal the wood off, then injected it into the screw hole and then ran a bead around the outer edge of the hole to seal and glue down the rod holder and to bond it as one with the glass, I do not ever expect to remove these holders ever. And I didn't want to have water issues EVER with this application, so I used 5200 generously and wiped off the excess with a Damp paper towel... And Yes the wife was watching, Funny I could hear her grinding her teeth over the sounds of the 1/2" Milwaukee drill, drilling the holes...hahahahah but when all was done, she said Damn that looks so professional....that made me feel good, I knew then she wanted to go shopping so I kicked her off the boat....and cut some 6-1/4" speaker holes....God I was having fun...
-
I cut the holes for the ROD holders last weekend, cut two of them, one each side took about thirty minutes, even while the wife watched...hahaha I need to install the probe transducer on the aft, and then the trolling valves.......Yeah she's getting there piece by piece......The Rod Holders are mounted in 2" of wood and fiberglass, and 1/4 x 2" Stainless screws with 3M 5200, I don't think they are going anywhere....

THat looks straight out of Ludington..... Yeah baby I've got a few of those in my arsenal as well.

that's what a remote control Auto pilot is for right???? hahhahahahah It's going to be a learning experience for sure...but that's what I'm up too.
-
OK Well this man, is going to have to learn how FEESH all over again and at the same time learn to manuever a large boat into a fishing pattern. Good thing it already has Auto pilot...that's going to help a lot and the fact that there's not many boats out of White Hall when fishing give me plenty of room to play with it...ut I'm going to drop the wire dipseys out and then learn the riggers all over again. My MANS Mechanic is all set to install the trolling valves and set them up in the spring...GOD I can't wait....but I'm back to watching the Keating on Kings DVD's and learning the ropes as they say...... My wire Dipseys always produced for me... so I'm going to be relying hard on them first couple times out.... it's going to be a learning summer for sure..
-
Steelie, you know I'm still hurtin, from not being about to get a rigger in the water, not even an Dipsey....And you have to let all of us know how well you did.. AWHHHH Come on man..

How does wild turkey taste dudes? I've never had it before.

Frank, I have the sony Cyber shot, and I love it for being on the boat, you can hold it in one hand and make all your adjustments in the same hand... this is my second one only cause I wanted more mega pixels for blown up shots and the zoom is 10x it's Awesome

Uhmm.. Let's see, I'm having a stainless Railing made for the swim platform, so we can fish off the platform Safely(mama said keep the salmon blood and guts off the boat)... Adding a whole new sound system to the bridge all JL Audio Component speakers (12) and (2) 10" JL Audio Subwoofers. Another 10" subwoofer and 4 speakers in the Cockpit(I call it a Patio). Adding two more rod holder holes in the Gunwales and I have to put a new transom sensor for the FishHawk that I let go with the 320 I sold. Wire in the two Riggers into the two cabinets port and starboard. That aut to keep me busy for most of the winter, plus everytime I go over to Montague to work on the boat, I have to take the wife with me,she's going to polish the topside of the boat with me.......imagine that!!!!!!!!!!!

I am Too Ken, but you know it Daughter comes befor FESSH....I think I avoided a huge bomb that weekend, but sticking to my plans.....and staying with the family and daughter...

Ok Here's an Identical Platform as to what We HAve, it's Huge. And I have plenty of room, Could even hook a security belt to me so the Big Ones don't pull me in...
-
Come on Now Guys, I wouldn't be out on the swim platform in 4-5 footer either, but you also have to remember my swim plat for is 15 feet wide and 5 foot deep, it's not a platform it's a part of a barge...and the railing is going to have sides on it and be bolted to the swim platform itself, I want it to be strong and secure.
-
Hey Guys, Well it's winter time again and I've got a great idea. I want to have built a Stainless Steel Rail Fabbed for my swim platform. You see I have channels in the swim platform that anchor down the dinghy davit system, but I want to remove those davits when I want to taker her out Fishing, and slide in a stainless Steel Railing that is by-folding on each end for storage that will have maybe two Rod Holders installed on it, or maybe even a rigger or two installed on it....I'm going to try to find a pic of the swim plat form empty so you all can get a good idea, just wanted to get some gears turning in those Brilliant minds of yours, cause You guys to me.. are the Pros..who would know what I need...I'll get back to this later with Pics. These pics aren't my boat , but this is what I'm talking about, I 'm going to try to find out where this man bought this or built it, It's going to be awesome, but I figured you guys could do better with ideas.... what do you think????
