Went out Saturday early evening, not a fish to be found, waves were 4 feet and a little at7 pm, we headed in my baby was exhausted and right now she drives, so I headed it in for the night.

Here's the deal, I live on the east side of Michigan, and I haven't seen half the road kill that I've seen in years prior....US 23 south of Fenton Michigan is normally the worst, but not this year, I'm wondering why....

I must say it is nice from a watching perspective.. I've spent many a year waiting to launch our boat or retrieve it, only to see the biggest A** show up and think that they are the most important and must be first in line...

Ken we went out last night 190fow nothing worked to 140fow and pulled lines from black flies I have never seen so many , I'm not bragging when I tell you I hag 1000s of them biting through my jeans it was the worst, I pulled and went in.

I know I've already welcomed you to this site, but now I'm concerned, Here's why: I just read your profile on Great Lakes Angler and it states "thanks to my bride, have learned what fun it is to have chickens."....OMG I cannot tell you how much this concerns me, because my Bride wants to have Chickens as well, and I don't know why. Getting off the Grid and self sufficiency is one of our goals, but I don't want NO Chickens, not to mention we have Coyotes on our land that come by once in awhile... Hello..... doesn't anyone know that yotes' eat chickies.... Please for my sake explain this Chicken phenomena to me, so that I may to understand what I'm Trying so hard to stay out of.... I feel the only true place for a chicken, is on the rotisserie and right next to the mashed tatoes on my plate... Tell me I don't need help... please..explain

Nailer, he lives in Commerce TWP Michigan, which we know as Near Wixom and Milford Michigan, which we all know isn't near anything....It's east side Michigan...where I live and work...We only see Salmon when they are mounted on a wall over here....hahahah West Michigan has all good ports on Labor day, but you may have to sleep in your truck, or a tent, or like me your boat...I think we're going camping, just me and the wife somewhere deep in the woods...Deep...prolly 500 feet back 2 feet down....

Good job there in Elk Rapids, when we were there about 2 years ago, there was a small boat taking large kings near the Yuba River outlet in the east bay... he wouldn't tell me the spot, but it sure was hot for him, he does it every year...so Try near the very south end of the east bay....

I want to take a moment to thanks Dave (Hell Hound) for handing over his hard caught Fish.... He emptied his freezer into my cooler and it is so greatly appreciate... Damn He'll never really know how much it's appreciated..... Though I know his New Future Wife wasn't going to let him fish anymore until he emptied that Freezer, She's a good woman....We'll enjoy this fish for a long time... Again Thanks Dave....you are the man.... We will get out there and fish soon, but not next weekend, I have to have Surgery on the Right knee on friday, and I'm going from there to recoop on the boat for the weekend....
