  1. The one thing I really like about my duramax is that you can actually hear yourself think in it. It is the quietest motor out there. The torque and power are great, no downshifting when pulling a load, just consistent rpm's and steady power.
  2. That is going to make a nice fishing boat! Looks like the wood inside is in good shape too. Looks like a fun project.
  3. Heat with a vinyl putty scraper works well.
  4. very nice, makes me start to think about getting the boat out.
  5. I have the great lakes navionics chip that covers all of the great lakes. When I bought it, I sent in the receipt and got the fishnchip that went in the second slot of the fishfinder that overlays the depth lines in the lakes, that chip was at no charge.
  6. What's a ghost boat?
  7. Watched all four episodes of the videos taken at your seminar. I was hesitant to drive the distance to get to location this year, fearing that it would not be worth the trip. Next time I won't make the same mistake, excellent content:thumb:
  8. All I can say is you can never buy a boat cheap enough.
  9. Mike, How much did you pay for the wash and wax, if you don't mind saying.
  10. I tried watching the first 30 minutes of Dragging for Trout, and even with high speed internet, the video is constantly buffering. Mike, do you have any way of correcting this? Thank you.
  11. I would prefer the 30 minute lengths, then if I have time I can watch two.
  12. I buy alot of lures from this guy on ebay, I thought I would share the address because I think he makes alot of good things at reasonable prices. http://stores.ebay.com/BAKERS-DOZEN__W0QQ_sidZ22995713QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14?_pgn=3
  13. Go to Sherwin Williams and pick up a gallon of environmentaly friendly paint stripper. You put it on thick and let it set a day or two then scrape, or use a commercial power washer like I did. It may take a couple of applications, but it works well.
  14. Man, that's what I'm out there for, if I didn't get excited when a fish hits what would be the sense of it?
  15. I do like it, no problems. I was going to buy the cannon last year, until I found out they were not making them anymore. I was really interested in the true depth at the lure function. I may sell my depth raider and buy one of the cannons once I hear some feedback on how they work.
  16. Ohhhh, so your shopping for a new $62,000 truck, nice to know where all the money is.
  17. I got the new Cabellas Marine Catalog yesterday and see that Cannon has their new Speed-N-Temp system out. Looks pretty cool, although pricey. I like the way their probe connnects to the downrigger cable, looks like it goes on and off very easy.
  18. sweet.
  19. Lot of work and money there, congratulations on the nice job.
  20. I am sure this has been gone over before, but can someone explain the secret weapon rig? Is this running your leadcore all the way out and then hooking your backer to your downrigger? If so, am I correct in assuming that if I run 10 colors, hook the backer to the downrigger and take the ball to 100' the lure will run at about 140'. Can you do the same thing with copper? Thank you.
  21. Buy a Hummingbird.
  22. You match your dial on the autopilot to the compass on the boat and then turn on the unit, matching the two headings, after that, the autopilot keeps you on your compass heading. To adjust your heading after the unit is on, you just turn the big dial on the autopilot. There is a knob that you turn to adjust the frequency of the autopilot adjustment to the steering, from slow (more frequent adjustments), to fast (less frequent adjustments. I have been very pleased with this unit, even thought it is older, and does not have all the fancy extras like the new ones, it certainly is an extra set of hands on the boat. I went out by myself quite a few times last summer, and on a 28' boat an autopilot is the only way you could accomplish that.
  23. I have that same unit on my boat, it works very well. The manufacturer no longer sells that model, but the will still service it.
  24. I would like to see you post some pictures of that Thompson:grin:
