  1. I have noticed they are firmer when u fillet them when they are half frozen then put them in brine overnight. My buddy do our last batch and they were not as firm.
  2. Yes, Muskegon and any tournament we run. I mix it right in with the rest of my spread but run it on a spin doctor instead of the big fish looking flasher.
  3. Hang in there and yes one day the reels will scream for ya. I was skunked once this year without even a release, that was after I caught 10 in the same spot the previous morning. Pay attention to your graff and boats around you. If your not marking fish and you don't see people around you catching fish pull and move. I have spent way to much time trolling around and changing baits. Now I take the time and move.
  4. Yes the meat head is 48-60" behind the flasher. Sorry about the confusion. Can't say I have ever ran a meat head closer than that, but I have had pretty good luck with it. The meat head rotates on it's own so the flasher just adds a attractent. Don't get me wrong sometime we do run our flys a bit shorter depending on what the fish want.
  5. On the 8inch paddles and SD we run 24 inches. On the 11's we run anywhere from 36 to 48 inches. I run my meat program 48 to 60 behind the flasher
  6. Fished the Ludington tournament this weekend startin Thursday, Ran down to Little Sable, picked up 22 missed probably 15 or so. Friday ran north to Big Sable and didn't mark anything and didn't catch anything, picke up lines and ran down to Pentwater and starting picking away at them and caught 10 then went to lunck in Pentwater. Saturday and Sunday went to Little Sable and picked up 15 Good kings both days and then moved out and picked some steelhead. Finished 5th in the AM tournament. Best bait this weekend was a customer meat rig my daughter built. Meat rigs were hot and found that Sunday flys were hot.
  7. We mostly run 9 rods to 11 rods. Riggers with moonshines down low and fixed sliders about 15ft above with dolpins, blue green, carmel. Dipseys with flasher fly's white and green, or meat rigs. Boards 1, 3, 6 color and 150, 225 and 300 coppers with mostly spoons. I would start in 70 and look for bait.
  8. My guys did well thursday night in 100ft. I would start around 70 and see where the bait is.
  9. Very nice, just so you know that if the sceen gets a mark on it again all you have to do is loosen the screws on the back just a hair. It happened to mine.
  10. Frank another question for ya hope you can help, we just picked up a new boat 27 amberjack, it has a lowrance lcx 104c head unit with a thru hull ducer. Not sure the number on the deucer. Anyway we do not mark fish hardly at all and we have been catching fish. I've messed with the gain and filters but can't seem to get in any better. Can a transduecer wear out over time, if so What would you recommend would be a good match with this head unit. Thanks a bunch.

  11. Is your boat white and maroon? I tried to call a boat and tell them they were headed into them.
  12. I don't know of anywhere that will have it at those times. You don't need it anyway overhere. Fish are biting about anything you put in the water. Flasher flies down deep are killing them. I don't know of anyone running meat over here, at least by Grand Haven or Muskegon. I'll be out Saturday morning out of Muskegon. Channel 68, The Foundation. Good luck.
  13. If they call it public it's not very. Mostly for the Charter boats. It's right by the depot by the charter docks. I know if you slip at the warf you can clean fish there. Other than that I don't know of one.
  14. I know the previous owner of that boat, he is my matco tools rep. He told me about your trans leak. says he knows what it is and its not a hard fix, The shift shaft seal i think is what he said. Only leaks while running hard. Does not leak when just idleing around. Send me some picks of the boat all rigged out I would like to see it, He's been trying to sell me that boat for years and I kept telling him it's not a fishing boat. Hope this helps
  15. Looks nice. How r u going to get to those 3 front rod holders now? I'm assuming they will be moved, but might be good fire extra rod storage. You can never have to many rods.
  16. 11 inch white, 8 inch white SD, 8 inch blue dolphin SD, and 8 inch green frog SD,
  17. Made out second trip of the season, I would say the new boat is working just fine. Two Trips and 43 fish. Headed out Sunday morning, straight out of Muskegon and set lines in 150. Had all lines set and when we hit 170 on a NW trill it was fish on. Lots of fly bites. Big paddle down the shute with mirage fly was hot untill about 11. Moonshines on the other two riggers also took fish, 8 inch spin doctors on the divers 20f0 back on 2 and 3 with mirage and sparty flies. I would say about 75% of our fish came on flies and these were allot bigger fish than last week. We took a couple of fish on 400 copper with a fly by the way. Other than one or two more the high lines were dead. Pulled lines at 12:30 18 for 23.
  18. Good job Mark, How's the new boat working for ya?
  19. love those full coolers. good job:thumb:
  20. I like to run allot of backer on my reels to get them away from the boat, My 45s I have a 150 and 225 45lb copper. My 55 I have 300, you could probably go more like say a 400 and still be good.
  21. Good job, Was a bit bumpy out there.
