  1. Funniest story about the newbie was the first time he pulled in 300 copper. The fish was one of the bigger ones and it pulled about 200ft out before we slowed her down. After about 10 minutes we were getting the planner board close to the boat. I was giving him directions and said "once we get the board off you have about 350ft left". He said "WHAT, I thought we were almost done...".
  2. Nice work out there Jim. Way to stay at it with the weather on the way.
  3. Welcome to the site Jim. We did pretty good Saturday night in PS, but we were not marking a lot of fish until late. Just after dark our screen lit up as well. Temp break was down 65-70 ft in 120fow. We had schools of fish from 50-25fow. Brought the riggers up but the water was 67 degrees 35 down. Did not get any more takers, but we had already had a decent night so we called it quits. Not sure what to tell you. Sometimes they just don't bite out of temp.
  4. Nice job Ken. We heard you out there but the radio was a little scratchy.
  5. WOW. That looks like some work. Nice day on the lake.
  6. WOW. That is impressive. Dito on JWheelers comments. Luck you didn't loose a finger or two on that one. GREAT STORY.
  7. Nice work. Got another one addicted.
  8. Nice job on the fishing Mike. I hope the camera worked. I was on the lake as well, so could not check. I'm getting closer (total fish count) but with the next few weekends not fishing (or fishing on your boat) I feel that I will not make up the difference. MAN I was SOOOO close.
  9. Some of that stuff makes for great stories that you will never forget. The catching fish is the bonus. Way to go guys. Sounds like a mess but you avoided total disaster.
  10. Great job and GREAT report Mike. Thanks for the information on the setup.
  11. 3 for 4, nothing to shake a stick at. Great work. On many days I would kill for 3/4.
  12. Way to go Peter. I had my wife on the boat with me on Friday. She likes it out there and does get excited enough to grab a fish once in a while, but mostly she is a GREAT driver.
  13. Went out with a great couple from work on Friday night as we heard the fish were back. Did OK, but missed a ton of fish. Many were just knock offs where I think the fish were snapping at the flasher and not hooking up, but I was MAD:mad:. Ended up with a few nice fish (3) one being 16.5 pounds, so my guests had fun. saturday night was a different story. Went out with a buddy from the other side of the state and his brother in law who had never been out. After his 3rd fish on 300 copper (all of which were bigger than 12 lbs) he was loving it. Ended up 10 for about 13. Similar water as the night before 150-120fow just north of ps. Ran a lot of flasher fly combos. Anything worked. 70ft on the riggers, 300 copper and full core produced. One fish on 5 color. Jplugs worked as well. I think we may have only caught one fish on a spoon. Sorry about the bad fish porn. It was pretty late when we got in and we had a lot of cleaning to do, so I was not worried about much else.
  14. That is some AWESOME fish porn. Thanks. GREAT catch.
  15. Looks like you need a bigger cooler. Nice catch.
  16. Nice work Aaron. I hope to get out a lot this weekend. Appreciate the heads up on where to start.
  17. Funny how the radio starts to light up about this time each year. YEH A$$, I'm running 10 lines just outside the peer heads and why are you crossing my lines. HAHAHAHA:lol: Rookies.
  18. Very nice job. You come from OHIO and nail em. Makes me jealous.
  19. Very nice work in some crappy conditions.
  20. Great job. AMAZING JOB. 15 for 21 is far better than I have heard from anyone in a while. nice work.
  21. Nice work. LOVE the new avatar / logo. I don't remember seeing that before.
  22. Great job Russ. Like you said, those fish move and sometimes you end up on the right side, sometimes not.
  23. Sweet work Jim. Way to fight the water.
  24. You at the boat or at home???

  25. JIm, I too use Gamakatsu hooks, but I use singles with a trailer, like I used to do when bass fishing spinner baits. I don't know, but I tell you this, I lost the frist 4 fish on flasher flies this year and since then not a factory hook stays on my rigs. I also use 20 lb fluorocarbon for the lines. I typically just slide off the skirt and beads right onto the fluoro.
