Way to go Ken. Perhaps you can clean up some of the horrible pictures I take. I know it is totally my fault.

I run almost all flasher flies at certain times of the year. At one point we only had spoons on 5 colors. Everything else (rigger, dipseys, copper, full core, etc) was on flasher flies. We produced very well doing this when the spoon bite was off. Like Jim I typically run a 11" prochip off the riggers. I have run 11" echip off the dipseys and actually won the last small tourney with a 17lb king on this setup. Typically I won't run the big ones on the copper and core. I stick with 8" echip on those, and most of the time I am running 8" echip on dipseys. 90% of the time I run flashers I am running a fly. I have run spoons, but very seldon.

Nice work Phil. Still at it I see. Glad to hear pop's and his wife are ok. -
We had an awesome weekend that capped off a great season on Just Hook'n. Fished Thursday night out of Port Sheldon with only 1 fish on the dipsey. No other takers. Friday morning took the boat on the trailer up to Harbour Towne in Muskegon. We were followed in to the dock by 1Maniac -Jim. Only my father and I on the boat so Jim decided to join us for a Friday night fishing trip. Headed out at about 6:15 and went deep (220-250). Did pretty well out there, 6 for 6. Fish were on just about everything. 300 copper with green ladderback ace high. Double glow ace high on downrigger 88 down. 5 color with glo xmas, full core with ???, and other downriggger with 11" white echip and green fly. So, we had no idea what to run the next day in the tourney only being able to run 6 rods. Saturday morning we had planned to head out to deep water again. We got out early (5:30 and could not get lines wet until 6) so we decided to see what the graph said in about 50fow. Well it was lit up. Fish never stopped on the graph the entire half hour. So we dropped lines. Downs, dipseys and 5 color on one side 3 on the other. Picked up two fish in closer (50-90) but not until after 7:30. One of them was the big fish (17lbs king) on dipsey 70 back with white 11" echip and green fly. Stripped out 350ft of line before we could stop it. I forget what the other one was on. We also missed a few in here. Ended up deep in about 250fow. Got a few more out here on mostly higher lines ( 3 and 5 color). 5 color with mag lemon ice took two nice steelhead. 5 color on the other side with yellow machine missed a fish. We were a few fish short coming to the end of the event. With about a half hour left we were in 170ish fow. Suddenly we saw fish hitting the surface, so we put out 2-3color setups. Sure enough, there it goes with double orange crush. I thought, YES another steelhead. It was a king. But still good enough when the chips fell. Finished the day 5 for 9, but had enogh to win the points champion for Port Sheldon League. What and AWESOME year on the water. Got the boat out Saturday night and ready to clean it up. Don't want a repeat of this year when we were waxing and everyone else was fishing.

AWESOME JOB Nick. I know I wish we had 9 rods and stuff like that, but you did a great job running this and making good decisions about the "fun" weather we had this season. Really appreciate you making this happen. It was wonderful getting to know everyone in the league this year. I look forward to doing it again next year and hopefully having as much luck as did this summer.

Very nice. 9 for 13 is great. Almost double digits. -
OK, that makes the brown I caught look like a minnow. SWEEEEEET fish. If that is not on a wall it's a crime.

Sorry for the late report. I fished a TON last week and am just now getting to report everything. Fished Wednesday night (PS), Thursday morning (PS), Friday morning (GH), Friday night (PS) and Sat in the tourney (PS). WOW what a week. Found some and lost some. Wednesday night we were able to get 2 for 4. Almost had a fish for each of my three guest. Last one lost a monster after fighting it for 35 min on full core. It was 2 colors from the boat and bang, undone. Ended up with one coho and one king. 6-8 pound range. Pretty slow and radio reports were all over. People we catching in 70, 120, 140, 170 and 200+ fow. Thursday morning went out with a buddy on his boat out of ps. Ended up in 170-185fow was the best. I think we ended up with 10 fish. These are not in my totals as I was not on his boat (just in case you were wondering mike . Friday morning went out with another guy out of GH. Did the same thing we did Thursday. got out of the pack and ended up in 220fow. Did OK. Landed 6 or so. Same kind of thing. 3 year olds at best. Friday night, went out on my boat out of PS. Ended up 5 for 7 with 1 steelie and all the rest small (4-6lb) kings. Same kind of thing. Ended up spending most of the night in mid 100s. Saturday it was tourney time. I had prefished more than I ever have (and probably ever will). Ended up fishing all kinds of water. 200, 130 in a slick, 70, and everywhere in between. Managed to get one lousy 8lb laker. SICK. Anyway, it was a great week on the water. Plenty of sun and good friends to share the time with. Wish the fishing would have been better, but that is why they don't call it catching. Lures were predominantly spoons for some reason. J-plugs worked a little as did flasher flies, but spoons were the best. Small ones too. Weird.

Very nice Jim. Got a tip from PlumCrazy that the speed on GPS should be 3.5-4 and popped a fish within 5 min of that program. unfortunately we only have 40 min left to fish and we were in way to close. -

Very nice job of catching. That is not even fishing my many peoples standards, but pure catching at it's best.
