  1. What kind of knots are you tying? Try looking at this thread: http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13665&highlight=knots
  2. SWEEEEET. Let's go feeeshn. That Marina sure looks empty behind that pretty boat.
  3. Thought Jay may have forgotten about this picture:
  4. We are in. Jim (Maniac1), Jay (Iceman08) and Scott (Rough Diamond) will be fishing together. Like you said, fun tourney for not a ton of money. The more boats the better. Will may the payout good for someone. But heck, it's still a day on the water and good time with good buddies even if we get a skunk.
  5. WOW. those are awesome. I have to get my 50lb test out and get up to lake Superior. NICE.
  6. And it doesn't cost much to get skunked fishing the sand bars. Scotty and I did that a few weeks ago. But, it was still better than working.
  7. Welcome to the site Jim. Though I am personally a salmon guy as of late, there are plenty of people here to help with eyes as well. I think you'll enjoy.
  8. nic job Matt. I'm jealous of all the warm water you have near shore.
  9. Sweet job gentlemen. HOW AWESOME IS THIS WEATHER????
  10. HOLY CRAP. Did you shave?

Saw the picture you posted on 3/16

  11. GREAT porn. Taxadermist was a must on that last one. Pretty fish.
  12. Welcome aboard. Most of us know a little and little of us know most, myself included. But, we'll try to help as best we can.
  13. SWEEEEET. Nice job on that fish. You are going to need a HUGE room to put that on the wall.
  14. We did the same thing last Thursday. Got really wet in the rain, caught 0 fish, but at least we were not working. GREAT picture. Fresh air and the gentle sway of the lake is awesome this time of year.
  15. HOLY CRAP that Jay can flat fish. Nice work man.
  16. if you talk to guys that have the tripples or quads and then talk to the guys with trees (like me), the guys with trees are happier generally speaking. I'm not bragging. The only reason I got trees was because I fished with guys that had quads and they said TREES. If you can find a way to mount them I think you will be satisfied. I mount everything with a 1/4 peice of aluminum on top and on bottom, pancaking the glass in between.
  17. I'm in. I'll take two in black please.
  18. Way to Go Ken & JoAnn.
  19. Nice job gentlemen. I wish I was out on the water. Keeing my fingers crossed for "slight" rain if any tomorrow.
  20. Nice work Jay. Seems like you had the shortest vacation of us all. Some pictures would be awesome. We are going to try to get out on Thursday, but it has been horrible foggy down here.
  21. Congrats. We are awaiting the arrival of our first sometime in late May. can't wait.
  22. Scott and I hope to get out of PS on Thursday. I have also heard reports about browns in PS and I know the docks are in at the launch. Good luck everyone. Dress warm.
  23. I WANNA GO FISHING. These pictures rock. Great idea to get us all in the mood.
  24. Get yourself some Okuma 55L reels, okuma copper/leadcore rods. All good information here, but personal preference on the backer and leader. I use all 25lb mono backers and leaders on my core and copper setups. Of course we are catching the kings with shoulders like they get in Lake O. For that you may need 50lb backer or you will be replacing your copper often.
  25. What Frank said about sums it up. Love em or hate em. I love my pancakes. They run very clean and true. This is one of those things that can vary based on your boat. Your engines (1 or 2 or MORE) your length and location of downriggers, etc. I think these all have an effect on hwo your weights (especially pancakes) track.
