  1. Way to go Bob. I can't wait to get out there. I hope to drop the boat in the water for the season on Sunday.
  2. I think I saw this on the news this week. COOL.
  3. Nice work tim and thanks for the report. I MAY be finally getting the boat in the water on Sunday.
  4. You were told that browns were not tasty and you smoked them. OMG . Someone is either pulling your leg or you are not speaking with the right cook. Browns are like candy, thus very sought after, at least by most of my friends on the water. Lakers on the other hand, we only smoke, but that too us a controversy with some fisherman. coho are typically caught on this side of the pond at the same time as browns, early spring, which is nearly complete. The bite then turns to Kings primarly for the remainder of the summer with a few other runs (the ever sneaky Skamani ). If you talk to most guys around here, the tasties fish are the two year old kings. THe larger fish are a riot to catch, but do start to get a little "fishy". However if you know what you are doing with a filet knife that can be solved as well. I believe that Mike (GLF) has a good recipe section on the site as well if you poke around. Hey, any fish is a good fish if you know what to do with it. I bet those smoked browns were yummy.
  5. Jim, you are sick of getting browns????? I caught nearly 200 fish last year and only one was a brown. It's on the wall. I know guys catch more than that, but I would love to have the problems you are having. I've not been out, but been reading a lot of reports and talking to other fisherman who do not post. The good temp water is moving out a little, though the cold rain we just had may change that. First year on the pond, read the most recent reports. I would not raido fish. You can chase a lot of "radio fish" and burn a lot of gas doing it and never catch anything. however, peope that take the time to post here are very honest and very accurate with their reports. Just get to know some of us and we'll help as much as we can. Also, thank you for becoming a supporting member your first year on the big pond. I'm sure Mike appreciates it.
  6. My phone sucks for sending photos. I'm not up to date with the iphones and such. I did send a few, but they were not very good. Tadpole, great quote. Good Job (hancock). Thats is FUNNY.
  7. Well, I figured he was just getting ready, being ready to go at 3 am and being born at 5:30. A true fisherman from the beginning. Thank you all for your congrats.
  8. Sweet fishn. Nice job.
  9. Happens to everyone now and again. Sharpen the hooks, and go try again. At least you had fun. I'm assuming you had a good time of course. Some times the best trips are those with the most memories.
  10. There baaack. I love it. Great quote. nice job Terry and crew.
  11. That is pretty impressive my man. Nicely done.
  12. Well DeAnna has made us proud parents. Our son arrived at 5:28 this morning May 11, 2010. He is a healthy 7lbs 4 oz, 20 inches. He is the rare red headed bread (at least for now). Mike wondered if I would be on the water this weekend. While I would love to, one first weekend with the boy will be amazing. We hope to have a pole in his hands soon. We are already training him to responde to "FISH ON". Turned his head the first time, but I have to say it was just likely due to the sound in general. All I know is we have extra poles in the water now. HAHAHA.
  13. Nice work Jim. Sorry to hear about your probe sinking. I did the same thing last year. Also went out and bought the new x4 probe. AWESOME. My wife accused me of drowning the old one on purpose. I won't agree, but I won't argue either.
  14. Dash for me as well, but as stated, it is far more important to have a good driver. I've been lucky and a number of the buddies I fish with know how to drive my boat. I rarely spend any time at the helm. Mostly I just drop lines and net fish.
  15. No tow in on the shake down cruise is a win in my book. I've unfortunately had to be drug in a few times.
  16. Luv your boat name. Welcome to the site.
  17. Bob, welcome to the site. Do you fish out of PS most often? If so, I am sure I will catch you out there EVENTUALLY. I am awaiting the arrival of my first child in the near future and don't dare go out on the water.
  18. My name is Mark, and I have yet to admit I have a problem. I'm ingoring it at the moment. Though I have found many enablers here. HAHAHA.
  19. WOW. what a great couple days on the water. NICE WORK.
  20. Thanks for the report Mike. At least you are getting out every once in a while. Perhaps ONE of these weekends will cooperate.
