  1. The old pepsi can lure. FUNNY. Nice work.
  2. Great points Gary. I too wonder why people are concerned about going early when you sleep on the boat. Something about morning coffee and crap - blah blah blah.
  3. Welcome to the site Tony. Can't wait to see your boat and postings. Make sure you add a location to your user CP so we can see where you fish and help as much as we can.
  4. NICe work. Fairytale ending for a fire drill of that magnitude.
  5. Nice work Phil. Sucks when people show up late, but nice recovery.
  6. Nice work Bob. Any avoidance of the skunk is great. Even better when you can share the night on the water with family. I love the opportunity to do that.
  7. Nice work scottie. Maybe next bet we should do a who can catch a brown for beers?
  8. Well put. unfortunate our local parades got canceled. I was looking forward to bringing our newborn son for his first memorial day parade. Typically one of the only parades I go to.
  9. Set out of Port at about 5:30 with Jay and Carol and a rookie (Les). It was one of Les' first trips out so I am glad Jay and Carol decided to join as I needed the help. Ran NW with a plan to drop in about 140-160. Did that and came up with one only laker early on a 5 color moonshine with pink spots. Ran out to 170 no marks, decided to go back in to 140ish where we were marking better fish. Not much there either. Ended up in 90fow on a scum slick that we found with a few other boats. South seemed to work better. After we spoke with Terry about slowing down we picked up a shaker or two. Ended up going 2.6ish on the down to get things going. Picked up about a 10 pound king and 14 pound king. The rookie wrestled the 14 pounder in on a wire diver set 135 back on 1.5 with a green 8" echip and a green/silver fly. It was AWESOME having him get the diver. I think he may be hooked. Ended up missing another steelhead on 5 color when it was jumping WAY behind the boat. Lures that worked were: craigs christmas on 5 color (thought it was mixed veggie, but upon checking it last time in it was not) green 8" echip with green/silver fly - dipsey Yellow 11" echip with glo nad fly - rigger 60 down White with black spots moonshine (i think) Moonshine with pink spots. All in all it was pretty slow and very challenging.
  10. Amazing job. Welcome to the site. What a way to announce you are here.
  11. Good work. We were out 5-30 am, and went right passed the boat looking for him. Didn't know what was going on until we heard later. Very sombering.
  12. That is some tough fishing. Better than working though.
  13. I think Terry is right. June is coming early. Darn IT. Well, we didn't try perch too many times last year, but this year I think we will.
  14. Nice work Nick. Great day out there.
  15. Nice work guys. Thanks for the tips on the water. The speed was crazy compared to last weekend.
  16. I too use convectors on my rig. I changed all my magdas out to them a while back. However, the price just jumped this year another $10. What you could get last year for 75 is now 85. I have to say that the closer they get to 100-120, the more willing I might be to go Shimano. But that is a lot of reels to change over .
  17. A rough day fishin is still fishin, but I know how you feel. Frustrating when it is happening.
  18. Great job and great report. Did you start north or south of port?
  19. NICE work guys. Thanks for the report. Does it seem like north is working better for you than south lately out of PS?
  20. Thanks everyone. Jim, not your fault man. But it was sure fun. I was sure that those fish were coming in wrapped togther in a big ball of crap in the middle of the boat. I was pretty happy to get what we got in without loosing gear.
  21. The cottonwood was crazy Monday night was well. Very flat and the lines were full of crap when we were out there at night.
  22. Great report. Hell, AMAZING report. I can't remember what we did 10 minutes ago that worked. You just be keeping a log. I have not broken mine out yet this year as I have been just excited to get out. Thank you for the information. very helpful.
  23. You have certainly found the best place (my opinion) to learn and guys willing to share. Not too long ago I was a re-rookie. A guy that fished big water when he was young and got the call to come back. I have to admit, it is FAR different that just using riggers back in the day.
