  1. Nice work Rog. Faster was the ticket out there last night. Probably why you caught them on the turn. If it was the outside
  2. Nice job Ken. Sorry I lost you on the radio. We ended up north of GH.
  3. Nice work Scottie and Rupes. Way to go guys.
  4. Had a great time with some true rookies on board the Just Hook'n. Heard a lot of friends on the water from the site. Great talking to you guys. Sorry I lost you on the radio, we ended going north all night from port and ended up about 13 miles north (just north of Grand Haven). Ended up with 6 fish, smallest about 5 pounds biggest just over 12lbs. Everyone caught two fish which was awesome. 2 fish came on 300 copper, 1 on full core, 1 on dipsey on 1 at 150, and 2 on riggers at 65. All fish were obviously close in depth. Lures were what I normally run. I think one came on mixed veggie, one on coyote, one on white 11"echip with new fly I am tyring for Mike (rigger) the other rigger had an 11" yellow echip with the other fly I was trying for Mike. One on dipsey with 11" white echip with a green meat rig ( know there are paddle for meat rigs, but MAN they are expensive), one on moonshine flounder pounder. Sharon said that the liked the way the fish "pulled" on the line when she was pulling in the full core. So, when the wire dipsey went off with the meat rig I handed her the rod. She LIT UP. It was AWESOME. - 12 pound king and she did a great job.
  5. Maybe we just need to let BP open a drilling rig in Chicago.
  6. Katrina, we typically use a combination on mags and stingray size spoons. However, when you see "moonshine" in my reports, these are all the mag size. Right now we are running mostly stringray size, with a few mags scattered in. I know this is not helpful, but I have not noticed a big difference in mag vs stingray size production lately. We typically start moving to mags when we start running Jplugs in the fall.
  7. I have not been up there since I was a kid going over to Manitou Island with my dad hiking. AWESOME area. Just beautiful. What I remember from Leland - smoked FISHES. My mouth is watering just thinking about that cool little town and all the fishery activity. Not sure if it is still that way, but if they smoke em they have to catch em.
  8. Horay Dhead. What a loser. I think the BP spill shown his resolve. Let's ignore the problems we don't consider our issue until they are so big they are not solveable.
  9. Nice work Jarod. I was out last night too and I thought the same thing before we left (CHOP). I was kind of preparing for 3-4footers by the end of the night and it turned out awesome. Great job out there guys.
  10. Thanks Mike. Can't wait to try these new flies and give everyone a heads up. Based on last night, I hope they have yellow in the sample package.
  11. Al, looks good. you may want to mess with how the pictures on the right come up. It may be just my computer settings though (display), but they were great quality shots. when I moved my mouse over them, they kind of came up on the side and out of my view. NICE though. Great work.
  12. Well, I finally gout out again and I guess we remembered a little bit how to fish, but it seemed really slow. Ended up with 7 nice fish somehow. We started south out of the chanel and dropped lines in about 85fow. By the time we got everything set we were in about 100 which was kind of the plan. We were marking great fish all night between 85-130fow anywhere most of the fish coming in the 40-70 range, but quite honestly we marked fish from 9ft to bottom. First two fish came on riggers, both with large 11" flashers (one white pearl and one yellow). The white pearl flasher was dragging a green and yellow fly and the yellow was dragging a cut da cheese (yellow) fly. Both of these fish were in the 10lb range. We got a small laker on full core with a stingray coyote colored spoon. One of the rookies was loving the 11lb steelhead on copper which came I think with the flounder pounder. That was a riot. 450 ft back and the thing is giving us a tail dance. It's the one all the way on the left in the picture. Gorgeous fish. I cried a little cutting it up. One of these days I will pull the trigger and mount of those big steelhead. Another maybe 5 lb king on a dipsey set on 1.5 150 back with a 11"glow frog paddle and a yellow fly. You getting the idea. they were loving the yellow tonight. Our largest fish came at the end when we were pulling lines. I had just handed the copper off to one of the guys and grabbed the full core to start reeling it in and it went. about a 15lb king on moonshine spoon. It's the one that is white with three black dots (MAN I can't even remember spoon names, I HAVE to get out on the pond more). This was a riot because it came in with more than just my hook. It had another trebble hook in it's jaw from a fly. Anyway, the few others I can't recall. We lost at least 5, mostly on slow jumps to the rigger and people trying to set the hook on the dipsey:eek:. All in all it was a great night on the water. Thanks JimBobber for the radio chat. Glad you had a good night as well.
  13. Nice work on the fishes. Hope you didn't lose to much gear figuring out the bottle thing.
  14. Nice work out there Jimmy. Great talking with you on water as always.
  15. Thanks for the report. We are going to try to go out tonight (before the storm).
  16. Very nice job. I personally didn't crip my auto stops. I just used the plastic beads that slip on the cable. They seem to work just fine.
  17. Thanks for the report. Great job out there.
  18. Way to put the smack down on the feshes. Nice work guys.
  19. That is a REALLY pretty vessel. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun on it for years to come.
  20. That is one heck of a fishn machine.
  21. Great work Terry. Good to hear that fishin is still producing.
  22. Nice attempt Kenny. At least you are fishin.
  23. 10 for 12. GREAT job in very tough water.
  24. That is great. I love taking my dad out to catch fish. Giving him back a little of what he instilled in me years ago is fun.
