  1. Fluoro works great, but you REALLy have to watch for weak spots. If you REALLY don't want break off, go with some Ande mono. I have my riggers strung with it and I've had finsh wrap around my wire divers and the downrigger cable and not break off the line (knock on wood).
  2. Thanks for the report. Sounds like flashers and flies are the hot ticket right now. We experienced the same over the weekend.
  3. You know, this just happened to me too. I went to Lakeshore outfitters and just bought a 7' fiberglass handle. Fits right into most standard nets and you save some money not buying the entire setup.
  4. Awesome job catchn the feeshes. Hope you get something for the effort.
  5. Great work Tim. Nice weekend in some rough conditions.
  6. NICE work. 10 for 20 is a TON of action. Sounds like a riot.
  7. YOU have got to be kidding me. That is AWESOME.
  8. NIce work Terry. Looks like a great follow up adventure to the one last month. Looks like more people too.
  9. I like the 8.5ft okuma classics. Actually like the style from the past (with the round handles). I'm not a big fan of the new triangle handles. They are fairly priced at about $40. The stainless eyelets on the new GLT series are great. They don't have any issues with wearing out from copper or core.
  10. Nice work Ken. They look happy.
  11. Nice work Corey. I had a similar problem with hook ups on my dipseys (flies). I switched everything out to 4/0 single gamakatsu (sp?) hooks an problems went away. Also, keep the drag REALLY loose, but I am sure you knew that.
  12. Hey Chris, nice work. Nice job on the tourney last weekend. Great finish.
  13. Nice job Tim. Always cool having new people on the boat.
  14. Nice job out there Phil. I'll have to catch you on the lake some time. Seems like we are fishing opposite times of the day lately.
  15. Man that is a cool story. Nice work. Great report. Thanks for the detail.
  16. The water was all messed up. We managed a decent trip in holland/ps, but the temp was all over the place in the same depth as we go farther north.
  17. Decent trip out with a good friend and my father (always a blessing). BUMPY BUMPY ride. We fished the morning from Holland where I was slipped for a few nights back home to port sheldon. Fished 55fow to 110fow, most prodcutive was 85fow. 65 down on the rigger with meat and a uv 11" flasher went in 45 seconds. I though, YEHAW, here we go. Never went again all morning. The other rigger went three times with a green and white 11" flasher with a 1" chrome stripe on the back and a yellow fly. Full core went once with blue veggie. All fish were nice size. Smallest about 8lbs, biggest about 15lbs. Nice shot of my 9week old son in by the fishes.
  18. Thanks for the report, and the complement. Your welcome aboard anytime. Though I don't have a very big collection of slammers. You may have to bring a box on board if you have some favorites (which I know you do). Great work out there Jim.
  19. I'm with Mike (GLF). In fact I sometimes run two white 11" paddles on riggers with either a green hypnotist or a wrecked um fly (anything with green). Sometimes even if the riggers are not popping, this brings fish into the spread and everything starts to work.
  20. Welcome to the site Grant. Looks like you may be sharing a lot of information for a "newbie". Sounds like you are just a newbie to the site and an experienced fisherman. We look forward to sharing and learning. Tight lines.
  21. That is a cool pic. Thanks for sharing Gord.
  22. HOLY CRAP. I think that first one is a brown. NICE fish Jonas.
  23. Ouch man. I've had nights like that. Tough to find good help. HAHA
