MAN, now I really wish it would have worked better last night. Nice haul guys. -
Even if I am driving the boat, I typically beat everyone to the rod when they go off. I can almost jump from the drivers seat to the opposite rigger in a single bound. If you are in the way, you may get an elbow, knee or something else to the head.

Nice work. Great to hear they are calming down and cooperating after the storms from this past weekend. -
Well, we started out to the boat to do some "fixn". Nav light on the front was out Sunday morning and for soem reason my bilge didn't work when we got back to the dock on Sunday afternoon. So, the nav light was easy - bulb was out. AND the bilge was easy - fuse was blown. So, we went out fishn. Ended up with two fishes in about 45 minutes in 120-130fow on the riggers 65 down. UV 11" flasher with a wrecked em fly. Missed a third on a full core with a double glow ace high plug. THEN the fun started. Tangled the dipsey into the downrigger trying to drop it down to the bottom in 130fow after we marked some big kings belly on the bottow. Dropped the planner board on the full core and had to turn around to get that (20 minute turn). 10 minutes later out of no where the boat just QUITS. That is not a good feeling. SO, we shut all the electronics down to save battery, pulled the riggers up by hand (did I mention 130fow fishing a 15 lb ball on the bottom). After about 15-20 minutes and a phone call to the wife to get the number from my new policy for Boat US towing, we were ready to try the engine one more time. Opened the engine cover to give it a breath without the blower fan sucking juice, and BINGO. It's ALIVE:thumb:. Not wanting to risk it, we said 2 fish is good enough and headed back in. Talked to my mechanic and he said that I am the 4th boat he has had this year with vapor lock. High humidity and no breeze on the water and problems creep up. I tell ya, I didn't like it one bit. All in all though, 2 fish in 45 minutes on a very flat lake with my dad and good buddy and we made it back to the dock safe, fixed two problems for the cost of a fuse and a bulb. NOT BAD.

What nailer said, and/or the 2.0mph is very slow. lead core at 2.0mph probably travels more like 60feet down or more. -
HOLY COW. how do you come back to the great lakes and still get excited about the fish down here. How much do those bad boys weigh?

Weird that the fish were empty Phil. Good to know they are still hungry. -

Welcome to our addiction. My name is Mark. I have a problem. It's called FISHING. HAHA. You'll love it here. -
We had signed up to fish the B4K tourney this weekend, but as most of you know the storm was ugly. A few boats went out and thank goodness we had no reports of anyone having problems (other than sparks from graphite rods ). Anyway, we did not fish Sat morning, but everyone was geeked to go fishing so we went out Sat night. Managed a few fish but they were biting light. They would take a pass and just bump stuff and no fish. We went 5 for about 8 but had many other bumps. One was about 15 pounds, the other 4 were 6-8lbs each. We marked a TON of fish in 85-110fow with very few takers. Waves were going north at about 3 foot, but were spread out and it was pretty nice. Sunday morning was a different story. Figured it would lay down (based on Sat night). NOPE. Waves now going the complete opposite direction and they were angry. Fished anyway, but it was not very productive. many boats on the water looking for the fishes from the night before with very few to be found. We managed 1 for 3. The two we lost were about 6-8 pounds. One swam away with a blue ladder back 8"echip with a blue fly that was on a dipsey with mag ring parked at 160out on 1.5. The other was on a ace high double glow on full core. The fish we boated was maybe 6 pounds on 300 copper on a moonshine psycho spoon. The interesting thing (that may explain why the bite sucked on Sunday) was when I opened the fish up that we caught. The stomach was FULL, so I figured lets see. There were 8 4" alewives in the gut. Keep in mind this was a 6lb fish. Probably 1.5pounds were in the stomach. I'm very surprised that he still hit our bait.

Hey Robert, welcome to the site and thanks for the report. If you fish PS often you'll probably here us out there (Just Hook'n). I was on the radio on Sunday morning begging for information. Even the charters had a tough go on Sunday. 2 big fish was a pretty good day on any boat. Nice work. -
AND at 4 she can probably crawl around an engine pretty easily. Cool story.

AWESOME job Jeff. Way to go man. Great event and you were one of the only ones that toughed it out. I had that sparking rods thing only once. Since then I don't risk it. You are right, Scary feeling. -

Nice job Kenny. We went out as well at night. Lake was WEIRD. 4 foot waves, but very far apart and it felt like 1', -

Nice job catchin some feeeshes and extra fun items. I sharpen all my hooks off the shelf. Doesn't matter if they are stinger, moonshine, etc etc. They are all factory dull. -
REALLY? I have the uv light and I think the led works better than the uv option. I've tested my moonshines in front of halogens, uv, leds, etc and the uv doesn't seem to make them glow better. I could be doing it wrong though. (we used to call this "your holding your mouth wrong"). HA. Any other opinions, I would be happy to hear what you guys think on this topic. I'm a a sucker. I have mag lights, uv, led, camera flash, halogens to light the back of the boat, I even bought that new berkley thing thinking it would do good at charging both sides of the lures at the same time. Doesn't work all that well.

I went out for the first time this year with Dirty Dog. Awesome structure near the point. At one point the bottom came up to a point from 140fow to a plateau of 85fow and then back down. It was like deep sea fishing.

Thanks for the info Matt. Welcome to the site and PS. I'm sure I'll catch you on the water if that is where you fish often. I'm docked just across from the launch.
