  1. I too run 30Ds and 45Ls. I love the idea of 45D though as you know how far each side is running. This comes into play more for 3+ boards a side and REALLY comes in handy if you fish before the sun comes up. Also I know it is a little more money, but I ran on Dirty Dog this year and it is awesome pulling in full core (or bigger) with 55Ls. They have a great retreive ratio.
  2. If you are fishing anywhere south of Muskegon it is easier to catch a few fish in the water you are in that pick up lines and catch no fish in different water (big flat bowl).
  3. OUCH MAN. You are right though. I HAVE to figure the prop out.
  4. Thanks for the report. Going out tomorrow night. Wish us luck
  5. Bummer dude. Did you happen to notice the temp on the beach?
  6. Frank brings up an issue that might be your problem. The shutter valve might not be there anymore and you may be getting back flow. Have you ever over heated your boat???
  7. So Jim, can I assume the boat is running good now?
  8. If that is the 170 merc motor, I loved mine. MAN was that easy to work on. Never had to do this job (the riser), but the engine was a horse. That double colling system would work all day long and not skip a beat.
  9. VERY nice work. She called you wimps. that is great.
  10. I agree 100% with supertramp. Remove this guys nuts for trying to tell you what to do after he ran you over. Your program (v) is what I would stick with. Now there is some sense to 100, 150, 300 copper on the one side, and full (or more), 7, 5, 3 or whatever core on the other side. This way you KNOW for sure that your depths won't mess with eachother.
  11. This is what Terry does (Dirty Dog) with the trip from port to port this year. We went to Ludington with him. It was a BLAST.
  12. that is AWESOME. Just look at that clear water. SWEEEEET.
  13. Your riggers will only get pushed in the current depending on you weights. If you fish heavy weights (15lbs or more) they will get pushed less. However, then you start talking about pancakes vs rounds vs fish shapes, etc etc etc. If you watch your lines and how they are running behind the boat you should be fine. Sounds to me like you need a bigger boat ( don't we all ).
  14. Welcome back. You will LOVE ludington compared to charlevoix. That is assuming you like catching Kings vs Lakers.
  15. Nick, I hope your back feels better soon. Nice work in tough conditions regardless. Sucks about the dipsey setup. OUCH man.
  16. SWEEEEET. That 29 lber is awesome. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  17. Nice idea brian. I love it.
  18. Sounds like the fish are going crazy prespawn. Not holding temp, hanging out where they should not be in the middle of the day. CRAZY fish. Sounds like you had CRAZY fun. Way to go.
  19. NICE work Kenny and crew. Way to Nail em.
  20. Tough weekend Scottie. Sorry about the feeeshes, but sounds like you had fun anyway.
  21. WOW. THAT is a lot of fishes. Nicely done sir.
  22. VERY GOOD WORK. Did you happen to notice the water temp?
  23. WOW. For greasers those are some pretty fish.
  24. Check out this thread: http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17801&highlight=knot the search functions on this site work great, but I am not sure if they are available if you are not a supporting member. Also, you are correct. Hi divers are just divers run higher in the spread. typically braid with the diver set on 3 or a smaller style diver. Few people use wire for high divers.
