  1. Nice work. REALLY nice for not even planning on getting out. Can't complain about that.
  2. Oh darn it. I knew someone would ask that. I know that Kevin (wild at heart) was in 7th I think. Rob (Plunger) was 6th I think. Predator was second. Ummmm. that is all I can remember at this time. I'll get more information soon.
  3. Jeff, I really think that the fish have been hitting the boards on the dipseys. This happened to me a few times in the past. No hook ups, but enought to trip the dipsey and give a few tugs. At least you were fishing. Nice work.
  4. Nice job. Fishing with family - AWESOME.
  5. Sounds like everyone should save the gas after about 8 or 9 am. Short trips are paying off, but the 9-1 seems to be just washign lures. Great job on the 4 for 7.
  6. Well, we fished the same crew as the Big Red and moved up a little in the standings. We were on top with only 10 minutes left, but a few coolers got the better of us and we ended up third. AWESOME doing this well with my dad on board. Can't tell you how much that means to me. It was tough fishing in the bouncy water. Seemed like everyone did ok from 7-8am no matter where you were. 60 fow, 100 fow, 130 fow, 170 fow, didn't matter. THEN after 8am the fish disappeared. I mean the screens went blank. They were flat gone. We caught 5 fish in the first hour, and 4 fish in the next 4.5hours one of which was a 15" shaker that ended up being worth big $$$. Water was cold everywhere and the fish just didn't want to cooperate. We took 3 or 4 fish of our 9 total (8 kings one laker) on a green with black ladder back ace hi plug. One came on 8" yellow echip with yellow fly on dipsey 1.5 back 100ft (figured we were marking high, we might as well try it). Another on full core flounder pounder. Another on full core with Jim's Blue milar ace hi. MAN, I don't think you are getting that back. I may just have to keep it and buy you a new one. The shaker was draggin on a 300 copper with a killer dolphin for who knows how long. That is all I can remember. My kidneys are wrecked, but we ended up pretty good. Thanks again to all you on on this site that have contributed to helping me become a better fisherman. I really apprecaite it and if you are on the water and know me, you know I'll share information as well. Just ask. It's all about getting everyone better.
  7. Thanks for the congrats Jim, and good work on your part in a couple very bouncy days. I have yet to put my report up. Doing that next.
  8. VERY NICE work out there. Great report.
  9. Way to go guys. At least there are not skunks on board.
  10. WOW, those are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the photos.
  11. Looks like we may have some competition across the lake. I LOVE fishing with my dad. Great to have you on the site.
  12. Welcome to the site and THANK YOU for helping others with their fishing addiction.
  13. Nice job guys. Hope that cold water stays in for the weekend, but it looks like we are about to get 3-4 days of south wind.
  14. MOVE WEST. We found COLD water in 160ish -170 last week Friday.
  15. This is a tuffy. The problem typically is not with the knife itself, as I know very few law enforcement officers that would tag you JUSt for a knife as a concealed weapon. However, a buddy of mine got tagged for a DUI and THEN they found his hunting knife, in the case, in the center compartment in the truck. BAM, concealed weapon on top of the DUI. The part that sucked about that (not condonning his behavior) was that he could not bargain out of anything. The lawyer got him out of the concealed, but had no wiggle room left over. I think the advice about putting it in the trunk makes the most sense.
  16. A friend from work that you were showing how to fish. HAHAHAH. that is good. Nice job guys.
  17. Nice work and thanks for the report Jimmie.
  18. Fishing equipment is worth very little unfortunately in this economy. Just ask those that have tried to sell it at the church event in Grandville the past few years. It's been pretty rough. The only time I have witnessed used fishing gear make someone a buck is if it goes with the boat. Then it can be a bargaining tool not to get taken on price.
  19. Welcome to the team Josh. I'm sure you and KJ will do a great job watching the shores on the west side. I still say, EAST SIDE IS THE BEST SIDE (of lake michigan that is). However you DO have the biggest brown. HA.
  20. Cool man. We needed somone on that side of the pond. thanks for stepping up. You'll do a great job.
  21. Nice work breaking that boat in. Sounds like a memorable trip.
  22. Went out of PS with just two of us. Jeff (BlueCollar) joined me for what turned out to be a nice night on the water (waves and weather anyway). I taught him how to miss fish for the first few hours, missing two hook ups and a few bump offs. Finally we got the skunk out with about a 5 lb king in 160fow on 300 copper with a blue milar ace hi (thanks Jim). When that fish was about half way in the other side 300 copper went. I think we had a psycho moonshine spoon on it. That one was about 3 pounds. The best fish marks were 160-175fow. Temp down 85-95 was 48-52. Fish were ALL OVER the screen from 95down to 17dow. Could not get them to go though. We tried every direction of troll. The two we did get were NE. Thanks Jeff for joining me. Hope you learned a little (of what not to do). Can't wait to join you in Muskegon and learn how it work on your boat.
  23. Thanks for the response. We are going out tonight. I'll let you know what we find (if any cold water exists).
  24. NICE WORK. Thanks for the detailed reports. Great to hear some good news out there.
