  1. NOW that's a good shakedown. Nice work.
  2. Nice work John. MAN. Already getting a jump start on those of us with the boat in jail still.
  3. Welcome aboard. One of these days a bunch of us have to to a trade a trip to lake O. However, I am not exactly sure what we have to offer in Michigan (smaller fish?) Those Lake O hogs are fun to see pictures of.
  4. What they need to do is line up some Michigan Militia members on these a#$holes and start a firing squad. What the hell is wrong with these guys trying to perpetuate a non-native species problem?
  5. Jay, you are my hero. You are a fishing machine.
  6. SWEEEEEEET. That will get us all excited and get our boats in the water soon.
  7. I'm game, but not sure about the weekend yet. Like the idea though Dave, and I apprecaite the offer of using your place.
  8. I run bags nearly every time I am out. Makes the boat more steady, easier to control turns, when the waves are 3+ it keeps the boat in the water. MANY advantages. You MUST spend money though if you want them to last a year or longer. I spent 65 a bag on "drift" bags. Trashed in less than a season. Finally I spent 125 a bag for "trolling" bags and they are awesome. They are also repairable if you do, for example, try to get up on plain with the bags still in the water. hahaha. SO, I am not the smartest guy on the water.
  9. Kenny, we are going to be slipped at Yacht Basin this year. If we have a trip planned and there happens to be a WMFL event, I hope to participate. It will be up to the crew we have on board (if guests), but $15 in the hat for the greater good is pretty easy to scrape up.
  10. SWEEEEET fish. Nice work.
  11. Way to go Ken. MAN, we were hoping to get out on Friday, but I think we are waiting.
  12. I ran 1/4" aluminum on the top and bottom of all my mounts and tried to make them a little longer than what I was mounting. The same size is just too risky with the rocking of the waves and when fish hit.
  13. YOU ARE mellow tga. $200 is a weekday trip. Last summer every darn time I went to the tackle store it cost me $200.
  14. WAY TO GO. I think you are the first on on this site to hit the soft water. Nice work.
  15. OK, maybe we are just smoking the crack again, but Scottie and I got out on the water on March 11th last year and we are planning to again this year to keep in the tradition of being crazy.
  16. I know there are guys on this site that fish that area (6th Street in GR). What a horrible event to have happened to such a young person. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.
  17. You'll get a lot of comments on this post. I personally prefer flashers and flies, but there are a number of people that pull spoons behind a flasher. Personally I think spoons are designed to have a very specific action. I don't think that action is possible while getting jerked around behind a flasher (whether it's a spin doctor or another style). However, I have witnessed they catch fish, so whatever works for ya go with it.
  18. WAY to go Thelen family. Great news Nick.
  19. Man, you had me going. I had to check your location three times before I got to the end of your story. NICE.
  20. HOLY cow, Mike beat me to it. Nothing worse than sitting at the launch and figuring out your problems. Pisses you off, and DEFINATLEY pisses others off. I've used my "buddy tow me back" card a few times, and I've repaid the favor. We all do it, especially when we get excited and want to get on the open water. Best to check it in the driveway before you go out.
  21. Love the name "Free Loader". Welcome to the site.
  22. OMG, I am heading down in a few weeks, and I can't wait.
  23. That is soooo true. I especially love the guys that sleep in and then ask for a fishing reprot at 9am. HA. I always tell them, the fishing was great, but you missed it.
  24. BoatUS policy - same thing. http://www.boatus.com/ Very nice to have just in case.
