  1. Longer leads will catch more fish no matter what speed you are going. I don't think I run anything less than 48-54 inches on my flies. Factory leads are way too short (IMO), especially for big boards. You have GOT to be having fun catching kings that fast....do you have to slow down to land them?
  2. CAZ...welcome back...great to hear from you.
  3. 4mph at the ball sounds like steelhead speed, but if you are catching fish, then keep doing it...I wonder though if your probe is calibrated...what is your speed over ground on your gps?
  4. Pretty standard replacement probe price. The probes for the other style units are expensive as well.
  5. I agree with Erik. Saw them at the show and was really impressed with the price and construction...they look beefy.
  6. Mike Koning (not sure if I am spelling that right).
  7. Always hilarious to listen to the radio. I would say that with the flat lake out there we had a lot of "rookies" on the water that normally don't come out and don't know the rules of the pond. I call it lure shopping. I tie good knots and I just tighten the drags and let em go.
  8. cannons...if you are pulling 15 plus pound weights you will want the speed and reliability. I wish I could say the same for Big Jon....had them for a long time and they are a great company to work with on service, but if you don't buy the brutes you are not going to be happy. Now, if you are puling 12 pound weights or less, pro tournaments should work just fine.
  9. We had a great time on the water with some neighbors this weekend. Unfortunately our ratios were not that good. We went 4 for 12. The fish we did manage to get to the boat were pretty nice. Most of the big fish we found were in 230fow, down deep - 150 on the rigger and 220 back on the mag diver set on .75 with meat. The fund raiser was a weigh 5 ANY species and was almost won with 5 sheephead.....hilarious. Congrats to team Pier Addiction who helped keep the fishing honest and won it with a decent box of salmonoids.
  10. Head down to Saugatuck and go see Aaron at Lakeshore Outfitters. Biggest lure selection anywhere...most manufacturers represented of any shop I have been in.
  11. Great job fishing and even better job reporting....seriously thanks for the great report.
  12. SOLD...can remove if you wish. Thanks for the post.
  13. Awesome job - 15+ fish is great. Full freezers. ;-)
  14. Way to go guys....nice work showing the guys from Colorado what fishing in Michigan is all about.
  15. What a great weekend on the water with many teams doing very well and the lake and weather cooperating for the first time I can remember for 3 days in a row (probably more leading into the weekend). We had some great pointers from Terry - Dirty Dog, and Dave Ash (HUGE THANKS) and found some fish in 210 to 150 headed Northeast from the sliders back to Holland. Everything worked - and thanks to the tip from Dave for using standard size spoons (we pulled the mags we had on and started catching). 5 color with lemonberry 100 with rainbow alewife 200 with skittles 300 with moldy muffin dipseys back 90 on 1.5 with standard rings, 11" lucky charms paddle and blue fly - this went many times. Fish were healthy - several in the 12-15 pound range and a few steelhead. We ended up 10 for 13 or 14.
  16. Way to go Jeff...it was great talking to you this past weekend. Great job on the tourney.
  17. From what I have heard and experienced on Saturday last weekend, they are spread out. The water is COLD COLD COLD, everywhere. The fish are in bunches but are not patterning at all yet.
  18. Walleye on a diver rod...awesome.
  19. Anyone want to take 3 pro tournaments off our hands? We have 2 with autostops and 3 ft booms and one without with a 4 ft boom. The 2 of the motors were sent to big john last year and upgraded/redone, and they all have new cable on them last year (lots of it, because we were fishing deep). They all have the ball holder and dual rod holders and they are on swivel bases. $250 each. http://holland.craigslist.org/spo/4453745137.html
  20. Very nice boat...I'm sure you will find a buyer.
  21. Nice job crew, and VERY nice report. I miss fishing the WMFL as we have in years past...always learned a ton and made great friendships. I had to go and have a son on May 11 (birthday party was the 3rd) and a daugher on June 6th...HA. Best thing that ever happened to me, but fishing schedule has greatly reduced.
  22. Very nice Ben. Great 2nd place finish. MAN browns browns browns....that is awesome. Tasty tasty.
