  1. I think what you will find is that people catch fish on plugs (no matter what style/make) at certain times of the year. What I have heard from people is they like the ace-hi because it is easy to use. you don't have to mess around with the hooks like standard plugs. They also have a different action, but I think it's more the messing around that peopel don't like. As for me, I have a TON of J-plugs. Size 2, 3, 4 and some big boys 5's. I think I have 4 or 5 boxes of them. Funny though, I probably only use about a half dozen.
  2. We'll probably be there Ken. Hope we can actually fish this one.
  3. Nice work Donnie. OH, NO, JUNE.
  4. Glad you finally found the right guy and got the motor. we had "fun" putting the peices back together this year too. Randy did a great job on the valves for us. Interesting to see the motor from the inside.
  5. Nice work Scottie. The trip to the store for the super screw paid off.
  6. Nice job on the 20 pounder.
  7. i don't like hearing from Terry that June has finally arrived. LUDINGTON TRIP?????
  8. Nice job. WOW 115 on the rigger in 120fow. Surprised you didn't pick up some greasy chicken.
  9. Way to go Terry and crew. How do you find fish everywhere you go?????
  10. Sounds like some 59 pounders broke you off. That happens to my boat a lot.
  11. Watch for the bubbles on the downrigger cable. If your bubbles are about an inch before they peal away from the cable, or you can hear them "singing", you've got it. however, sometimes the wind plays with the singing part. Worst case, go buy a darn fish hawk. But that is expensive. But works.
  12. Great job. was this the shake down for the new boat? If so, that is awesome. I'd say it works just fine.
  13. Sorry for the late report. Got back to the dock at 11:30, then woke up and spent all day yesterday on my way to, in, and on the way back from Chicago. Anyway, we bounced around in the 0-1ft waves (MY BUTT) in about 75-120fow about directly out from Holland from 6-10. Ended up only finding 3 for 3. Mag Nuclear Waste on rigger at 58. Moonshine Bish's Bruiser on 300 copper. Half moon bad toad on slidder on same rigger at 37 (pulled up later at night). Boat finally ran well.
  14. Nice work. Sounds like they are slowing down (or hiding).
  15. Nice job out there. We were out for a long time and only managed 3 wtih a 10 rod spread.
  16. That's a nice ride. I'm sure you can get some good advice from guys here on how to mount salmon gear.
  17. OMG. I almost swallowed by tongue when I say that picture at the end of you on back fo the boat. NICE WORK.
  18. Nice job Matt. Great report. Love catching those "bonus" fish and gear.
  19. That is awesome. Way to hammer the fish guys.
  20. Sams club has nice simple big while coolers for around 65 bucks. Might be the same as those at Wal-mart, not sure. I also have the corners for a tie down system that I am not using if you are interested. PM me and I can get them to you somehow.
  21. Very nice job gentlemen. Impressive steel.
