  1. Thanks for the heads up Nick. Picture would be awesome. Hey, how did it get to be August already? Where has the summer gone?????
  2. Stupid divers. Why can't they just use GPS like we do for marking fishing spots?
  3. Way to go Jimmy. Expensive weekend for wall hanging. But I'd do the same thing. Still waiting for a 20+ pounder. 27lbs wouldn't even be a question.
  4. That is awesome. I assume that is going on a wall somewhere.
  5. Way to go gentlemen. 9 is pretty impressive Phil. Nice work.
  6. I think what you are asking is what to add and where to get it. Bretts place on the bay can set you up about a cheap as anywhere if you want to wait. If you don't want to wait and you want to look at what you are buying, go see Aaron at Lakeshore Outfitters in Saugatuck. I personally fish Okuma Convector series, but you can easily get a Pro series cheaper and depending on the number of trips it will do the job. I concur with many on the site. If I only had full core, I would add a 7, 5 or 3 color first, before I added copper. If you do decide to go copper, I would not run anything smaller than a 55L series okuma convector (not as nice as 800 tekota by a long shot, but not as spendy either).
  7. There were 20 boats, so I was not sitting too bad being in the top half. I think 4 boats caught 10, I think one caught 8 another caught 5 and we were sitting in with most weight of a few boats that caught 4.
  8. Well, Muskegon and Port Sheldon are VERY different. I spent a lot of time out of both last year and the year before. Port sheldon is a wasteland of FLAT FLAT FLAT. There are only a few spots where the fish gather, or at least there were the last two years. 145ish and 108ish, north half way to GH. Other than that, go deep, speed up and get ready for steelhead. Muskegon is TOTALLY different as you can actually find deep water there and not go to Wisconsin. It drops off if I remember correctly from 170 to 250 pretty quickly. That is always pretty good. Also, there is a troff that goes about directly southwest out of the port. That has always been pretty productive. Otherwise, go to duck lake. Most tournaments I was involved in two years ago, the winners with HOGS went north to duck lake.
  9. Nice feeeeshes. Great work out there and MAN was that a nice sunset.
  10. That is awesome. Get em started young.
  11. Well, we fished our classic 7th place in the Holland Steelheaders event on Saturday. I utilized Don's laker taker program to finally get fish. We started in 150 and trolled out to 200 and missed two knocks on the dipsey out 175ish with a 8" yellow protroll and yellow fly on 1.5. Sooooo, we headed to laker grounds and found a few. got a double on dipseys right away - one king one laker. Got another large laker at 13lbs and picked on up on the rigger a little while later. So, we were 4 for 6. Not horrible, but certainly not great. Still, had a GREAT time with my dad and two great friends.
  12. Sweet job Kenny. Was this a tournament weekend, and how did you finish if it was?
  13. Nice work Chloe. AWESOME that your name is on a trophy at such a young age. Oh, and good job Terry and Don.
  14. Very nice trip Eric. I hope you got enough rain for the food plots. It can quit for the weekend any time now.
  15. YA, you get sick of this after a while. We check NOAA, check the web cams, check intellicast.com (best weather site I have found), and check the flags at the marina when you launch (and some on the way to the launch). Intellicast has some great wind modeling features and hourly forecasting information that I have found helpful. If NOAA says 1-2 and Intellicast has W wind 10-15mph, I normally trust Intellicast. That being said, I've gone out and turn around because they were too big; and also not gone out and went to the beach later to see a flat pond. Sometimes you just never know.
  16. Way to go guys. Great to hear the boat is working again.
  17. Great weekend with a TON of time on the water. I didn't even get the boat out of the slip and barely set foot on it. Nice work out there gentlemen.
  18. DUDE, that is awesome. Nice night to be on the lake. Calm before the storm.
  19. Very nice box by 10. Well done sir.
  20. SWEEEEEET. Nice work out there.
  21. Nice job Mark. Looks like a great time.
  22. That is awesome. Love the picture of the dock. Perfection.
