  1. NICE job. I FINALLY broke the 20lb mark a few weeks back. Of course it was only by .5lbs, but it's going on the wall.
  2. SOLO. WOW. Impressive job Mark.
  3. Very nice quick trip. hell, I'd take that result for a long trip.
  4. Not to beat a dead horse, but the times I have been out (which have not been enough) I have experienced much of the same. We get everything down, and the fish are on the graph and we are all positioned (knees bend) to jump on a rod. And NOTHING. The after monring bite has produced much better. Weird.
  5. Nice work Matt. Keep the lines tight and the tips high.
  6. I'd say that was a pretty good shake down trip.
  7. Couple wall hangers there. NICE.
  8. THAT is awesome. Two first timers. CRAZY. Now they are going to expect that every trip. hahaha
  9. Dude, triple with two people. Awesome Jimmy.
  10. Nice work Ben. I was a lumpy weekend for sure. White paddle with green fly is HOT HOT HOT right now.
  11. I wanted to say thank you to all those who have helped me throughout the years with advice, time, etc. If you know me, you know I get a little "passionate" about my opinions and fishing. I truly love this sport and want desperately to see people enjoy it and succeed at it. MANY people on this site have helped me through the years. While I've not put in the time I have in past years, we got a little lucky this weekend in Saugatuck. We ended up placing first in the 333 with a 20.5 a 18.7 and a 17.something. It was a crazy weekend with some big water. We prefished on Friday and went 6 for 14 with just dad and I. Went to the same water (ok, we were forced to the same water because of the waves two days in a row) and ended up finding a few big fish. It is awesome fishing with my friends and especially my father. I am truly blessed to have time on the lake with him.
  12. This is a really good deal for anyone really, but especially if you are just getting into the sport. I'm sure you won't have trouble getting rid of them Phil. Hope your back feels better.
  13. Agreed. What started out as a heated discussion has turned into valuable back and forth. I DO want the tournament to suceed. I don't think Scottie was talking about you Aaron.
  14. I'd call that a good long trip. GREAT work on a short ride.
  15. Craigs X-mas for me too. And for some reason (only on my boat) Nuclear Waste.
  16. I was just saying what I don't like has been widely announced here. So you don't think I am a complete moron, I think we can agree on some of the things I do like and you all probably do too (boobs and butts). I think our points are well made, and we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  17. I used to fish at night a lot more and had great success doing it. Pretty much what Jon said. If you can find them (which you have more time to do from 5-8) and then switch out to glows with about an hour left, and just hang on. The one challenge with this is that you are typically having to clear doubles and tripples in the dark -which can be fun too. I've never targeted lakers at night. Interesting questions. Would love to hear an answer from someone that has.
  18. Is there some rule about marking them correctly? Like maybe similar to how nets are market with a vertical marker so you can see them from a long way off? I think that is the biggest issue - them sneaking up on your and then tearing off a bunch of your gear.
  19. Happy Birthday. Love the name of your boat. HILARIOUS.

  20. You're making my point, but disagreeing with the opinion. I would LOVE to lose to Jimmie, who went out ahead of time and caught 12 on Thursday and 11 on Friday and put the work in and deserves to win. That is a fisherman who knows, works and respects his craft. I realize that the fishing changed, that's fishing. I also agree with your opinion about staying out of the tournaments because you don't fish enough to compete with the guys that are out all the time. This is why we have smaller events, like WMFL and others. These are GREAT ways to get into a competitive event for a little bit of money and have a great time. I highly encourage these formats. I just don't like the big money events being weigh 5. I don't think I'm alone in my opinion, but others have chosen to abstain from the post, which I understand completely. OH, and I DO like boobs and butts. Just throwing it out there so you don't think I'm a complete moron.
  21. WOW. that is super dark. Impressive feeeeesh. Nice work.
  22. Know how you feel. Didn't get in until May 20 this year with "isues". Congrats on the shake down. I bet it feels good to go out and come back without issue.
  23. Let me rephrase. Not all divers are stupid. Just the ones that pollute the water with dangerous markers.
  24. I stand by my decision. Yep the fishing was tough, but I see the field did pretty well, with over half catching 5. I prefer getting beaten (which I do often) by the few (half dozen or less) that figure out how to catch 10. Just my opinion.
