  1. WOW, Some guy had the balls to ask you how to fish when he parked next to you. I'd say "Look very closely at the end of this barrel, smile, and wait for the flash".
  2. Ahhh, combat fishing. Even better with rookies. Dave, you made friends with people that fish the pier? That is awesome. Nice to have some lead chuckers on your side. Do they aim at sailboats for a price????
  3. Noooooooooooo. the same thing happened last fall if you remember. 10-15ft waves for like a week and all the cold water went up the chanel along with the fish.
  4. OUCH man. 7 for 29. I think I would stop counting. We went 7 for 14ish earlier this year and I thought I was going to lose my mind. At least you had action and plenty of it. I'm sure you were not bored. Nice recovery on Monday.
  5. I don't mean to disagree with people, but I do offer a different opinion. I use 20# big game on my leaders and I am plenty happy with it (for 3 + years). Just have to set the drags right and not muscle the fish into the boat. I can see where the 30# would work for a more aggressive fish though. However, 20# works too, you just have to use it differently.
  6. Way to go. Can't believe some one was out there in that mess.
  7. Way to go Jimmy. Glad you made if off the water safely.
  8. Friday 3-6, Sat 2-4, Sunday 5-8, Monday 7-10.
  9. It was almost flat. maybe 1 foot, but most of the waves were from boats.
  10. 68 is the right chanel over here generally speaking. If you are going out of PS, I would go north toward GH, but that was what I did for the last two years. This year we are in Holland and it makes more sense for us to go south to Saugatuck. Just get to Saugatuck or GH, that is where the big boys run in.
  11. Went out for a night trip because the fishing has been AWESOME out of Holland. I love it when those fish get lost between Saugatuck and Grand Haven. We ended up with 8 for 11. Ran the 80-120 range, fish marks EVERYWHERE and bait balls like the ocean. Pretty much the same program as everyone is running right now. Mt Dew spinnies on riggers, dipseys, 300 copper and even full core. Had 5 color out and never a sniff even though we were marking fish in the entire column. Anyway, GREAT day on the water with nice (no) waves and great sunset.
  12. WOW, circus show. nice finish though.
  13. I would say go to Saugatuck every time. I spent 45 minutes in the "other" place this week just to get a 300 copper redone. There was a guy behind me in line for 25 minutes that finally walked out of the store with nothing - not having been served.
  14. SWEEEET work Phil. Thanks for the report. We are going out tonight.
  15. That is COOOOL. Nice job Jimmy.
  16. I've never fished like that (jigging) before. Sounds like a riot.
  17. Oh yeah, forgot about that. I LOVE sailboats. hehehhe.
  18. Glad you had a great experience Nick. Sounds cool. YA, a camera on my boat would just show me yelling at people and getting "excited". Then about 2 hours of nothing, then getting crazy again. HA.
  19. nice HOGS Don and crew. Way to go.
  20. It was awesome having you guys join us for the weekend. GREAT job by the crew. what Tony didn't say - because he is a nice guys - is that ALL the lost fish were either Me or my dad. Tony and Tom didn't loose a fish all weekend I don't think. They did great and I stunk it up big time. BUT, we still had a riot. Oh, and the winning cooler on Sat was 166 pounds with 9 fish. It was CRAZY.
  21. That's amazing. Hope that one is going on the wall. Great hook on that jaw.
  22. Sweeeeeet. Great job Terry and thanks for the advice.
  23. Nice work Jimmy. What a great couple days. Nice work in the tourney.
