  1. Welcome to the site. Birch Run huh . . . time to shop. Where do you typically get the boat wet?
  2. AHHH that is sweet. About time to look up that "reel screaming" video on wire dipseys. Thanks for the reminder.
  3. SWEEEEEEET deer. Great job on public land.
  4. Way to go Eric. LATE November fishing. WOW.
  5. That is AWESOME. Way to go man.
  6. That is AWESOME. Very nice deer Ed. Way to go man.
  7. We fish a pretty consistent 10 rod spread, but without at least three on the boat it's pretty hard to manage. I figure I am burning the gas to get out there, I am going to put enough rods in the water to catch fish.
  8. This year more than any other the color seemed to matter in August for us. Anything yellow spin doctor was crazy hot. And normally I don't put hem out, but if you didn't you missed out. Other than that the standards worked pretty well. Spoons: coyote, lemon machine, modified blue dolphin, etc Plugs - we too had a dead year on plugs FF - Big weenie anything and a white paddle.
  9. WOW, you have made quick work of getting that apart Jimmy. Good luck in the deer stand.
  10. Vector riggers are awesome. You'll love them.
  11. I know exactly where you are coming from. I love the look of everthing being the same. We rul 8'6"Okuma rods on pretty much everything, with the exception of full core we have 9' okuma mooching rods, which have a little more backbone. I run the grey 8'6" okuma trolling rods, 8'6" classics for 1 color up to full core, 9' mooching okuma for full core, and 8'6" okuma leadcore/copper rods for copper. I run mostly (all but a the 1 and two color core) convector reels. Maybe someday I'll get a sponsorship.
  12. Don, I wondered about that too. The new boat we got has some % of water in the transom. We got a deal on it (thinking we may need to replace it), but I was reading about the epoxy thing. Who did you have do that?
  13. Let me get this right - does that say $125,000 as the price tag?
  14. OMG, I think I just wet laughing at the vision I got of Don towing "colored" trolling bags. That is toooooo funny.
  15. Same as above. We typically don't run them anywhere but on the bottom, but we have caught some big kings in the mix with the lakers down there in that cold water.
  16. Those are awesome Frank. I must need to upgrade my camera. We see that, but it never shows the same in the pictures we take.
  17. SWEEEET. What a great looking rig. Is it spring yet????
  18. Nice work. I went for the first time a few years back. Never harvested a bird, but it was cool to call them into about 5 yards. Neat hunting. Congrats.
  19. Lmao. Thanks for the break in the day.
  20. not sure where Aaron at Lakeshore gets his, but that is where I went. They are sweeeeeeet.
  21. I know where you are at Nick. My boy is now 18months old and this summer we certainly didn't get out as much as we have in years past. Can't wait until he is old enough to join us on a reguar basis.
  22. Way to close out the season. You held out a lot longer than most.
  23. I'm the same way with fishing as most of the guys that have posted. We run max lines the entire time on the water until everyone is boxed out. Never really thought about the fact that we already have 5 in the box (which means technically that one guy is out). Guess it just never really crossed our minds. Interesting topic though. Hunting, I've witnessed the woods push in Fennville. 10 guys sitting on 5 gallon buckets on a county road with shotguns about 75 yards apart. YIKES. I got out of there as fast as my vehicle would go. The biggest question I had was how they decide which way to shoot without getting in the crossfire. I think hunting is as much about being in the woods as anything. I call it napping with a purpose. If I wanted to kill a deer for meat I would just pop one off the deck at my folks place.
  24. WOW. Very good Karma on your side now DD. Very nice of you to go out and get a fewllow fisherman in theri time of need. I've been on both ends of that one. SUCKs being the guy on the dead end of the rope, but it pays ( when you take your turn ) to be the guy on the power end. Big thank you to you on behalf of all of us who have been on the other end. GREAT job on the fish. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
  25. Awesome. I can't wait to get back down south on the open water.
