Just Hook'n

They are DRASTICALLY changing it daily. Was 1-3 for Saturday morning yesterday. The huricane makes it very unpredictable.

Man, I don't miss the lauch one bit. I really enjoy being at the marina. You can only fish one port (very easily anyway), but I really don't miss the mess in PS with idots launching sailboats, guys loading gear, etc etc.

Wash EVERYTHING in dawn dish soap. I mean everything that touches the water. Get the skunk off.

Still amazes me what people in small boats go out in. Some claim they can "ride" the top of the waves. Scares the crap out of me thinking they will get sideways trying to solo net a fish or something and get swamped.

Better safe than sorry and you got the skunk out. Great decision.

Nice work staying with it. 3.5hours without a bump is depressing. I've washed lures like that often. Apparently you got them clean though as they worked after the wash. Great finish.

Nice story and great to get some people interested in salmon fishing.

Kinda the way my tournament year went. The quote on our boat was " we're not last ".

OUCH. Good thing everyone is ok. Had that happened on a rough water day that could have been much worse.

Well, many people found fish on 8-25-2012. Our boat was not one of them. We fished in pretty much the same water - 85 to 150 as many boats that did well. Fished pretty much the same lures too - flashers, flies, meat, big boards, small boards, tin cans with peanuts, j plugs, etc. We ened up with 5 in the boat, two of which we had to throw back because they were undersized trout. It was a good morning with Dad and friends though. The boat traffic was a little thick, but didn't have too many problems. Congrats to whoever won it... please post if you know the results. Having had only three fish we took off after we got a few pictures.

Ah.... the plug needs to go in before you try to plane out..... those trips are great memory makers. Great job on the fish. The radio silence and empty fish cleaning station probably had a lot to do with the Gold Coast tournament that was going on. Weigh is was going on between 2 and 3 so the fish cleaning station was probably slower earlier.

That is awesome. I'm sure that is a trip you won't soon forget.

Historically I've run Green on one side and Red on the other to match the lights on the boat (starboard and port) as this helps me get them on the right side. However, lately we've been running UV as that seems to be the hot ticket so I have to really pay attention and make sure they go in the right way. Believe me, we've had them wrong before and tying them in a knot them in the middle of the boat is no fun with wire. On the wire vs. braid vs. mono. We've always run wire. I've never ran braid or mono so I am prejudiced. I love the wire. You can feel a fish blink.
