  1. Thanks for clarifying that the store is not closing...at those prices I was wondering. See you this weekend.
  2. Congrats....fishing buddies for life.
  3. Nice work Jimmy. I was hoping all this warm rain, sw wind, and hot nights would start to change the lake. Did you happen to mark any perch swarms on the graph?
  4. I have a number of them and my favorite as of late is the standard rounds with short tails. 15lb. I run them all all three riggers down to 250ft and I have not yet had a tangle (knock on wood). I used the think I needed to run pancakes with the tail bent out a little to keep them out - that works good when you are in 65fow, but if you start getting them down to the bottom to fish lakers in 100+ you start messing with your dipsey spread.
  5. I like Matt's post - "I see the Sun shining - down on me"...classic. The MP3 player on our boat gets a lot of work - especially when the fish are slow. We try to mix it up to see what they want. We always typically listen to a bunch of bob and tom stuff to get the guys laughing, but we also play everything from acdc to zeplin and everything in between...country, rock, jazz, blues, does matter - as long as it starts catching fish.
  6. Nice work out there...I wondered about getting out before the storms come in.
  7. I got my buck back lasts night from Gone Wild Taxadermy in Marne - it is awesome. This being my first buck mount - I was most concerned about the neck ground shrinking. I was awesome on November 15th last year and I didn't want it to look small on the wall - IT DOESN'T... Renee did an amazing job..
  8. What I find is that my friends that understand the cost of running the boat typically help out a fair amount - and that is why they get invited back....the people that don't understand the gas costs typically throw in very little and are commonly one time fisherman on our boat. My close friends always help with gas money because they understand that we are taking on the "boat" costs. I've rarely had to ask for gas money...most people offer to help out.
  9. I can't wait to see how fast she moves with twin 454s on a 29ft open. She looks awesome.
  10. Well, I'm sure I got most of you to read this post by the title - Best trip ever out of Holland in June when most people are struggling to catch fish. HA. Well, it wasn't the best trip because of the fish count. We didn't even have a bump and fished for two or so. We went out to 60fow in front of the sliders at about 5 pm and just can dipseys and downs south for a few miles. We turn it around and ran north to just south of the piers, putting out a 3 color, 5 color, and 100 copper. We pulled lines at about 7 - no hits, no releases, no nothing. What made this the best trip ever was the crew - my father of course - my buddy ryan - and it was the first trip ever for my 3 year old son William. This was our trial run with him. He's been on the boat on the big lake before, but just sight seeing ... never trolling slow...so we didn't know if he would get bored, sea sick, whatever. He did awesome....couldn't understand why we couldn't use his buzz light year rod... What a great way to spend a fathers day weekend on the pond...I couldn't have been happier.
  11. Thanks Nick...great job on the 100%.
  12. Very nice. Those fish from lake O continue to look just awesome.
  13. Well, I've been out of the loop for a week or so. Our second child decided that 6-6-2013 was the day to show up. Meaghan Lizabeth Kraak joined the world at about 4:00pm. 6lbs15oz 20 inches and adorable - though I am biased.
  14. WOW, I had not taken the time to post, but we too had a daughter on 6-6-2013 at about 4pm. Meaghan. SWEEEEEET. What a small world. Were you at Zeeland Hospital?
  15. Way to go Scottie - great gesture on your part at least. Have fun in CANADA.
  16. Awesome. I hope to get my son out there this year, but at 3 I'm not sure if he will enjoy it yet - but it's worth a try.
  17. Great quick trip Nick. Nice job fishin with family.
  18. Very nice - great looking fish.
  19. Great job Nick...nice to see you got back out on the water. If you need a hand mid week, you give me a call...my father sat at the boat almost all week this past week in Holland and I'm sure would have jumped a the chance to go fishing. Since he's retired he can do whatever....sounds nice huh.
  20. Way to go Jimmy....very nice fishign during "cotton wood" season.
  21. That rig is awesome. Not sure how you stayed off the water for that long. Most guys I know would have at least thrown dipseys out the sides and gotten her wet. I'm sure you will enjoy being back on the lake.
  22. Happiest day of my boating career - day I sold mine and we started using dad's. MAN, I love fishing off someone else's headache.
  23. Nice job Ben...way to find some fish on a week night.
  24. One of my main questions is how to weigh in fish...there are a limited number of certified scales and the guys that fish at night (vs the morning) don't typically have access to them when them are done fishing. Sounds like fun though...I'm in for either a boat or a individual...$100 for big fish per day per port....you are going to get a lot of people turning in fish weights.
  25. Very nice. GREAT first fish on the new boat. Hopefully that is a omen of good things to come.
