  1. Nice Job Tom. Sounds like the deep water is where we will be playing this weekend.
  2. Thanks Don. Here's an idea. How about they quit frickin allowing netting. Someone have to actually die first? Or just get really badly hurt? Where do we draw the line on "their rights" vs. everyone else's safety.
  3. I just started running copper this year. Running 300' of 45#, one on each side, then full core, then either a 5 or 3 color outside of that. Last week Sat night, all that caught fish was the copper (and one on the rigger). pretty happy with it so far. Debating getting a 450 setup for later this summer. However, I think you can also get the same depth with a full core and 4 oz dive bomb if you don't like the extra length (like a 15 color). But, then you have more to mess with. It's just what you like. I do like the way the lead spools better.
  4. We did NOT go out yesterday afternoon. Got a warning call from GLF, thanks Mike, and the wind was 20mph from the N. Waves were crashing over the north wall. Decided to just enjoy the sun on the dock. Those are some really good looking fishies. Nice work.
  5. Nice work. Sounds like we have to move north. That action was here 2-3 weeks ago and now it has slowed.
  6. I used to fish at night (1am) for walleye and had great sucess. I've only heard about it during the full moon for Salmon, though I am sure there is at least someone out there at all times on the big water. Those that I have heard having the most sucess are the full mooners. And then obviously some good glo spoons and the normal pre-sun setup.
  7. Nice Hank. Guess they are actually catching them that deep.
  8. Sweet. Weather should be SUPER. Come on everyone, We need to take Nick's money.
  9. Went in, got a shower and dropped the dogs off to give them a break, went back out. MAN, we were "land sick" on Sunday.
  10. Went out with my wife, her sister and boyfriend tonight. They had never been big lake fishing. Ended up with a pretty good trip for them. Each one of us was able to boat a fish. However, they are certainly a lot thinner than a week ago. Ended up 4 for 4 with 3 kings and one very ugly laker. 1 - 5lb laker, 185fow, 300ft of copper, mag nuclear waste 2 - 15lb king, 140fow, 300ft of copper, mag fat nancy 3 - 4lb king, 150fow, 300ft of copper, mag fat nancy 4 - 5lb king, 140fow, 57 on the rigger, mag nuclear waste Ran out to 200fow because there were a few people that boxed out there Friday. OR lied about it to get people to burn gas . Anyway, temp was 50.2 65 down at 185, so we came back in. Found a few pockets of water down to 46 degrees about 55-65 down in 140fow.
  11. Decent night Friday on the water and the lake looked even better Saturday morning. Headed out a little behind most of the other boats and struggled to find the fishes. Seems like some where out at 200, some in at 100, some in between. They certainly scattered this weekend. Ended up with 7 for 7 but threw two of them back (shakers). 1 - 4lb king, 120fow, full core, nitro, new green and white with ladderback 2 - 10lb5oz king, 120fow, 50 on the rigger, yellow tail 3 - shaker king, 129fow, 5 color, flounder pounder 4 - 14lb3oz king, 140fow, 65 on the rigger, blue puke 5 - 17lb6oz king, 140fow, 65 on the rigger, nuclear waste 6 - shaker king, 150fow, full core, yellow machine 7 - 3lb8oz king, 135fow, 57 on the rigger, nuclear waste. Temp was all over. we had up to 52 on the down temp at 65feet in 140fow. We had small pockets of good temp (down to 44) but it was very small pockets. The 17lb6oz king is our biggest this season. Poped the rigger with 90ft on the counter (reel) and didn't stop until he got to 350ft. MAN was that fun.
  12. After a long weekend I can finally see straight. Friday night we went out with my wife, my buddy Ryan, Carol from work and her two children. It was little bumpy - thanks again weather man. After Carol's son decorated the pee bucket he took a nap. Surprisingly he woke up and started catching fish and never got sick again. Night ended up pretty good. We were 7 for 7. 1 - 5lb6oz king, 110fow, Full core, Glo Puke 2 - 14lb10oz king, 100 fow, 45 down on the rigger, mag fat nancy 3 - 1lb king, 105fow, 3 color, mag carmel dolphin 4 - 5lb king, 100fow, 45 don on the rigger, mag fat nancy 5 - 8lb ho, 100fow, full core, Glo Puke 6 - 2lb king, 100fow, 45 down on the rigger, can't remember the lure 7 - ?lb king, 100 fow, 300ft copper, mag nuclear waste All in all it was a nice night. I'll post pictures when I get them from my guest. Forgot the darn camera again.
  13. I didn't know we could shop from the boat. Hmmm. Next time I am on board I'll bring a spare "empty" tackle box. JK. Nice work Terry.
  14. Nice work Jim. We found the shakers this weekend too. I think we boated 5 or so.
  15. Nice job. Great ratio. You must take Mike's advice and sharpen hooks often.
  16. That was your first trip. Awesome shake down trip.
  17. This weekend should be a good pm bite. Full moon on Sunday 6-7-09. Great job Mike. Where can I get my hands on that prototype spoon?????
  18. Mike, we heard you on the radio in Port Sheldon. I was really surprised. Nice work on the fish. Could have used that double orange crush hint. We didn't pick up any steelies, nor did we have doc in the water.
  19. Here are the pictures. Finally found the dang camera.
  20. Sweet weekend Phil. They are going deep.
  21. Ouch man. We had a similar experience Friday night. I'll post later.
  22. Way to go guys. Nice work out there. That weather was hard to figure out this weekend.
  23. Nice work. Funny, 5 in the boat seems like a downer this year. I would have killed for 5 nice fish in the box last year.
