  1. Went out saturday morning with Silver One and Baron. Ended 15 for 18. Got to Ludington about 5am and lots of lightning. Opted for breakfast instead. Launched about 7am. Stopped in 45fow just north of pierheads and set lines. Pulled 6 fish in the next 1.5 hours out to 55fow. Turned north and headed towards the point. Nothing but boats up there. Turned back south and ran into em in 95-110'. Limited out there. Ended up with 1 LT, 1 8# coho, 2 steelies, 11 kings. Biggest king went 19.25#(Joe). Had 2 doubles and a triple that all landed successfully. We had a greenhorn on the boat that did a great job driving, fighting, and netting. Turned out the midday was best when the boats left and sun came out. Boxed out by 230pm. Baron got a beautiful steelie on a rigger 75 down:rolleyes: No flasher fly bite. Only one rip on divers. This was my first time fishing Lud. Had a great time on the Silver One, she fishes like a dream. We ate like kings the whole weekend too. Thanks for the great trip Joe! This is some stuff that worked best: 300' 30# Copper SWR just off bottom Full core Yellow tail std. spoon blue dolphin std. spoon bloddy nose std. spoon Joe might have to add more.
  2. Great job Randy. Sounds like you guys rolled in at the right time;)
  3. Nice job Tony. We were out in the Silver One. Was nice mid day. Ugly morning and turned the same later.
  4. Beautiful fish. Congrats on the hog:grin:
  5. Yeah it is pretty sweet. I swar i just saw someone toss a spawnsack down there. Can people cast in front of this? or am i just in need of coffee and fishing.
  6. Same here. I started wrapping braid backer and have been having snap offs 10'-15' up from the board on flat days. Always fun to make that quick loop:mad:. Next year im splicing mono section to clip boards on. Hate adding more knots but knot a choice:p Have only had power pro do this and not any ripcord. Both 30# and brand new this year:confused: Thats a much better idea on the boards as i know mine have faded quite a bit.
  7. Them are some hogs right there. Wow. Those might sink my boat:lol: Nice catch, thanks for the fish porn!
  8. Cool pics. Wire rod kings, that'll get em hooked. Prob a litle more exciting for em than a double core. Hopefully they will want to get more involved when they get a touch older.
  9. Welcome to GLF. Those steelies are a riot i hear. Hope the fishing turns on hot and heavy for ya. We need some pics of the true monsters you guys get over there.
  10. Never know, depends on the day. Jplugs are hot in the fall usually. Some snap weights or dive bombs might work good on just your pier mono rods. Could cast a spoon at same time too, between strokes. Short core rods too but then buying more tackle. Can u fit 5 fall kings in your kayak??? GL
  11. That is good:lol:
  12. Nice hog. Thats a beauty there. Very nice:D:grin:
  13. Glad ya got to get some yummy walleyes. Thats the beautiful thing on a charter is learning how others perform their tasks of rigging as we all do it a little different.
  14. Nice catch. Good size fish and no skunk, fine evening by my standards. Caught up to GLF now??
  15. Thats a couple of real nice fish. Mtn Dew w/ No Seeum is my favorite combo. Nice job
  16. Im sure you will NEVER forget the details of that catch and what a pig it was. Woulda been heartbreaker to lose em. Nice thinking, thats why we fish so many rods:lol:
  17. Glad to hear the Priority 1 is back in action.
  18. Nice catch and great story . Some nice fish and memories there. Woulda loved to have seen that:lol: Jeez thats soudns fun!!!
  19. Actually they were and both full of eggs. Looks like lots of little slamon in the spring!!
  20. That some nice fish. Musta been fun in them waves. GJ
  21. Great catch and report. Sounds like a heck of a time. 5footer aint too fun unless ur slamming like that. Headin over next weekend with Silverone. Hope we can come close to that. Nice job guys!!!
  22. Congrats guys and to Hunter. Nice catch. SOunds like agreat morning:)
  23. Fishwhisperer and I took out the Nee Hi. Ended up 3 for 5. 22" Laker, 35" about 12-14# King and 35" 17# 12oz. King. Lost a little laker on 150' copper greasy chicken wing in 130fow. Missed nice fish on SSWR in 90fow while netting fish. Picked up keeper laker on SSWR(more later) in 150fow on Miami Dolphin. King on SSWR in 120fow Miami Dolphin. Big king on 200' copper 105 fow MS Mongolian Beef. Started pretty slow as not a hit til 8pm. Fished 85fow out to 150. Wrapped up all kinds of stuff. Copper, leadcore, dipsy, mono, dive bombs. We wrapped everything we could today for some reason. Pulled my single rigger and my clip came out of the weight. Only weight naturally. So here is what we came up with..... 2- 1# balls and a 1# pencil weight:D We fished a 2 color SWR with a 4 oz. dive bomb off this. Its our new rig. Not sure yet on name, either SSWR (Super Secret Weapon Rig) or SSSWR (Saugatuck Super Secret Weapon Rig) We ended up taking 3 of 5 hits on that. We had to improvise. All in all it was a fun day with some nice fish and another reason to get a bigger cooler. Lots of sunshine and flat calm by sunset. Thanks for coming along Randy!
  24. Great catch guys. TY for the report
