How deep ya talking? That reel will prob fit 5-7 colors of leadcore at most i would think with backing. Getting u maybe 25-30ft deep. Copper dives quicker but takes up more space on the reel. Thats easily done with bouncers. U might be looking at getting some bigger reels. Braided line with dipsy divers would get u deeper but im not sure that the reel would hold up to the pull of dipsy divers. Misunderstood the color line=leadcore before One pound balls/ heavy snapweights/ Dive bombs/Torpedo divers are all options also to get deep with less line. U would prob want braid for this with no stretch. These would give u a little bit versatility by changing weights. The leadcore or copper is basically one depth per rod. Leadcore is more forgiving to work with than copper so i would recommend getting used to it before copper as it can be a headache. Although some of the newer supercopper is more forgiving.

braid would help ya get deeper along with more capacity and sensitivity. You could then add a section of mono or flourocarbon to the end if u needed rather easily. Are u using these for dipsy divers, ur bouncers, riggers??? Im not reel familiar with the reels. Application would help determine what lb test to use

What's the most valuable piece of equipment on your boat?

Beer, Stereo and a good fishing partner to grab me a beer and change the station. All three give me the patience and confidence to stay out there and stick with my gut feelings. Or at least enjoy s cold beer in the sun while trying to justify my gut feeling/skunk in the box:lol: -

plan on being there unless i can sneak out fishing. It looks like it might be fishable next weekend with this warmer weather. Will have fishing on the mind either way! -
I got a 12" last year and its nice but a 10 woulda did it.Plus they make a $5 plastic cover for the 10" and only a $25 sheath with belt loop for 12". I really dont wish to pay 1/2 the price of my knife for that. Its stays in orginal pack but sucks. Much better than pre-Forschner days though;)

I agree with getting to the rod and cranking like a madman:clapping: Rigger, RIGGER, RIGGER!!!! I have been known to jump on peoples laps that are in the way along with jumping from the flybridge to get that rigger rod. Reel down fast as but not a hook setter unless the release didnt go.

Anyone have any experience with these tracks from Lakeland products fishing TRAC? My cousin was looking at some for his boat. I never heard of them. Wondered if they fit berts or traxtechs stuff? He would like to add berts dispy and some trees on tracks. http://www.lakelandproducts.com/cgi-bin/online/store.php

I have a bunch for my core and small copper. They have held up well for this weekend warrior. Slowly upgrading to convectors but wouldnt have crap now if id started with spendy gear. Not big fan for dipsy but have had good experience for 4 yrs for others. Not bad for midrange cores that i dont use a crapload too. Just my .02. I need to learn how to do drag upgrades would be nice.

Lacking a top or rocket launcher I have fog lights mounted on spring clamps. These are used to see my boards which have DOT reflective tape on them. I have the ends spliced into a 110v plug and power lines are the 110v receptacle. These can be removed, adjusted, and cost me about $25 total. I had near back but later moved up as they do get hot and didnt wanna get line touching. I have a 12v tractor light on a clamp for the back. I would do different if i had a top or permanent place to mount not in the way. Do LED's not get so warm?

For the connection to the swivel give this knot a try Yeah That:D

Never fished the others but have fished Islanders very similiar to that and they are really nice. If i woulda had money/space this year I woulda bought one of dem. They all look like nice fishing rigs with lots of room in the back. Good Luck

Will be in Ludington 1st weekend of June for family fishing trip. That would be great. An April trip in South Haven would be great too but understand if u cant do it Terry.

I was thinkling same thing. Im hoping to be able to fish copper one side or both and core on the other.

These are just for the end caps. Everything else is bolted down very well. Went with 2" SS carriage bolts and this took about 5 minutes. Even if the wingnuts fell off the bolt would have to come up 2 inches. Thanks for the help guys. I feel much better about my eq now.
-
I think im gonna do this but with reg bolt heads that i can get off easy. The bottom will be in my locked rod locker so they would have to break into that along with having right tools. Might just do wingnuts on one side for easy on off. This will allow me to still take off easy to go tubing and such. Thanks for the help guys.

Albright knot works great for me. I believe the 30 guide is the same as the 45 and 55 if i remember correctly. Knot really any difference in size btw. pp or mono knot. I have been adding a 30' piece of mono btw the backer and copper to clip on boards. I believe the make an after market replacement for the reels that is bigger to fit big knots. I have have never really had an issue with them fitting. http://www.animatedknots.com/albright/index.php?Categ=fishing&LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com

Last year there was 200 yds of ice off north pier on Fri night. So sat morn we launched to find the wind switched and blew it across channels mouth. 50-100' of ice between us and the open water.
