  1. Fished Green Friday and Saturday night with marginal success. Took about 25 each after several hours. Best fishing was from 10:30-11:30 PM both days with waxies and spikes both working on Hali jigs and teardrops. Had to fish State Park as West ramp still has some open spots and very thin ice.
  2. Yes the boat was next to Capt Hook last year but I haven't actually been there. My boat is in Manistee and this will be my first year down there as I will be running the boat on weekdays for a friend of mine. I have never fished St Joe so Iam sure it will be an experience.
  3. Hi Levi, Sounds like we have alot in common. I run a charter out of Manistee but will also be fishing St Joe this spring on weekdays. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet you while we are there. I will be running a 33' Pro-Line called Blue Runner that was down there last year in the spring for the first time. I also love to chase the whitetails as soon as the boat hits the barn. www.killintimecharters.com
  4. Just for another perspective it depends how many rods you have. Personally I set up 8 rigger/planer rods with 20 and 4 with 40-50. The heavy line is used for pulling the large Hootchies or meat rigs 80-200 feet down and allows less stretch for better hook ups and fewer break offs. Other than that 27# core, 50# spider for divers. If you are limited on rods I would have one rod with heavy line for meat and the rest with 20# and I only change line once a year.
  5. I run 3 riggers on my 31' charter. I felt after running 5 that there was not enough use of the the other two to justify keeping them. I like the 3 rigger set up because my best rigger is the chute rigger in the middle and it allows a more defined V pattern.
  6. We only used bags. Tried both chartruse and pink with floaters in all. Chartruse took the fish.
  7. Fished the Big M Friday morning with Capt Paul and Riverside Charters and had a great time catching two small males and loosing one medium sized hen all on spawn drifted through the holes. If it stays warm Steelheading will remain decent.
