  1. Very Nice. Nothing beats the joy on a Kids face when they get that first fish. WTG Peter
  2. I use 30 to 40 ft of 20# Berkley Vanish Flouro Carbon . But u can use what ever works, try experimenting and find what works for you and your boat.
  3. 10-4 on GPS being priceless. Today convinced me that my next purchase is Radar. There were idiots running on plane in the early morning fog out of S. Haven. Scared the crap out of me. We chugged slowly out and still got our fish.
  4. Nice Job Jim! I love seeing new comers figure out that it is a lot of fun and that when you have a big day you can feel good and take some pics that you can share here at GLF. Great job on a great day.
  5. Tough day on the lake Jim! The Kicker is that you got to go fishing...... WTG.
  6. Foggy Foggy Foggy when we left the piers @ 6:30AM, chugged out to 90 FOW south of the piers about 5 miles, set lines and trolled NW. First hit was a king on a freeslider rigger was set @ 65 dn, carmel dolphin fishlander spoon. The next was a nice Laker on rigger white pearl ) dodger down 102 with a mirage strong fly. Next was another King on the freeslider rigger set 65 dn. We took fish on 7 color gold monkey puke,. Full core took a couple on the lemon Ice stinger mag, 300 ft of 45# copper with tequila sunshine fishlander took a couple and the white spinny with a Sigs blue bubble got a fish. Ended the day 16 for 19
  7. Ok tried to attach pics again and no Joy. Check out the galleries.
  8. Well the boys were a little late this morning didnt leave pier heads until 6:45. Same crew as Yesterday, and the fishing was different this morning, First hid didn't come until all lines were set and we just kinda picked away at them until about 8:30 when we saw fish boiling on the surface.????( hmmmm they must be feeding on the lady bugs again) Put out 2 SWR rigs on planer boards and things finally got going no big fish and the guys farmered some fish but ended up with 16 including 1 Laker and 1 steelhead. Green glow spoons in the standard size stingers, Fishlanders and Fuzzy bears all worked well. We had 6 more to the back of the boat and they came off when the netter got a hold of the hooks. Thats what you get when you take new people out and they get to do it all. We had 2 shakers that we let go, and 1 that was gilled we kept. Still had a blast. Pulled lines @ 12:30 went to shore and played around and my Partner the other Mike C and a friend came over and we went out for an evening bite GLF Was on the fish we tried the morning pattern and nothing moved out and down and ended up getting 5 more fish and losing anothe 5 the days catch to land ratio was not good. All in all we ended up 20 for 34. Now I will try to post pics of the 2 days. Wish me luck.
  9. Wtg Jose' Nice day on the water.
  10. Ok the MC2 is back in business, finally got the damaged prop and steering gear repaired. Its heck when u break your stuff backing out of the slip and hit a submerged log that mysteriously enede up buried behind our boat. Left the pier heads @ 6:30 ran out to 90 FOW and started to set the riggers. Got 2 down and the first hit a nice 8# King on a moonglow green glow spoon. the 2 1/2 inch size took off 66 down. Then the other one went while attaching the third line to the ball another nice king, on DW Dr Death down 82. Finally got all the riggers set and was letting out the first full core and another rigger went that one was the same Green moonglow coho 66 down. Got all the lines set and the action was steady until we pulled lines. Full cores took a lot of fish, with DW Kevorkian and fishlander green glow tail spoons. The 300' Coppers with Craigs christmas and Green Monkey Puke spoons were good too. Ended the Day in great fashion last 5 fish were a Nice 18#King on the full core Kevorkian and then a Laker on the rigger down 92 White prism 0 dodger with a Strong Mirage fly. Ended the Day 22 for 27, 3 were shaker kings that were released unharmed. We did take one Steelhead on the full core Kevorkian. Green Green and more green was the program. Every Rod took hits. 85 FOW to 114 FOW with the best being 85 to 95 FOW. Just a not the Coho and the Steelhead all had Lady bugs coming out of their gullets when we netted them they were stuffed with them and still eating the Steely had a 6" alewife halfway down and hit the spoon. Forgot to bring the camera home will post pics tomorrow after our trip.
  11. Thats the way to give back Capt. Ron.
  12. Trout will have a white mouth and gums, Kings will have a black tongue and gums, Coho have a dark mouth but not completely black like a King and they have a greenish back and are very much a scale slipper. The Michigan book that has the fish regulations has a great ID guide for most species. U might want to remember that Steelhead have a square tail and the salmon are slightly less square. Good luck.
