  1. Nice job on the fish, welcome to the lake.
  2. St Joe is the best kept secret on the lake>
  3. I bought a 10 dollar mechanics UV lite at Horbor Freight, a couple of passes and the glow lasts, It was first shown me at the GLF roundtable in Walker 2 years ago by a charter captain out of Saugy. It works, and it doesnt cost a ton or take up unnecessary space. they are made of aluminum and take regular batteries.
  4. Welcome to the site and thanks for the post. We have all had the nicked backer or something similar. Like one of your buddies picking at the albright knot and then not saying anthing whenit loosens a little.(happened to me last week).
  5. Finished installing the new Raytheon Graph at about 11:30. Splashed the MC2loaded up the crew and left the piers at about noon. Set up in 120 FOW, Spinnies and flies on the dipseys out 280 and 200, 2 riggers at 90 and 125 with stackers up 10 on both, all spoons in mag size and green the color. 2 300' 45# coppers with Craigs christmas and NBK, 2 full cores with green dolphin and Blue dolphin DW mag spoons. And 2 short cores. 6 color with reg size NBK and 5 color with blue dolphin DW spoons. First fish was a 6# king on 300 copper NBK, then 2 coho on the Blue dolphin DW on the fullcore. Lightning started at about 1PM so we headed toward the piers and got a report of bad storms so we called it a day. Ended up with 3 fish. Ok for only an hours fishing. BTW the new graph is awesome.
  6. Ditto everything said. Low divers on 1 to 1.5 and high divers on 3, I have 2 wire and 2 power pro divers and they run great together.
  7. Wire all the way best thing to come along for Dipsy fishing ever. Its not difficult at all and the increased depth and lack of stretch make it a great way to present the dipsy or other diver. Just be sure not to horse fish on any no stretch line or you will pull out a lot of hooks.
  8. Keep an eye on this site for St Joe Info, I only get to fish Sundays right now but I do give reports. Currently there are fish being taken on the outside edge and into the river plume, and a good number of fish are being taken in 180 to 220 FOW, straight out of the piers and start working the dirt early if you dont hit any fish go on out to 150 and set up from 70 to 110down and keep going west until you find fish. 2.3 to 2.7 for speed seems to work well. The colors are all over the spectrum. Good luck
  9. Nice job! They're baaaack. See ya Sunday. Be my first trip since the 31st. Gonna have My son and Grandson's on the boat.
  10. Good job Duane. I was hoping the fish would move in befor the weekend. Gonna try to get out Sunday.
  11. Glad to hear that Huron is getting the Silver back.
  12. Mike where r u wanting to fish? If you want to try the river plume in St Joe u might pick up some silver fish. Perch are out deep still.
  13. Well done Dave! Hope to fish Sunday(weather permitting) gotta figure out the program again too.
  14. Thanks in advance for your help Ed, you are right on about the quality of contributors and the help that is passed on here. Its not about the fish its about the fun!
  15. Nice catch all I can say is YUM!
  16. The ST Joe bite has been on the move out from the mudline, I u start early give the top 30 ft a shot in 40 to 60 FOW, if no joy move straight west to 90 FOW and start covering the top 60ft, should be a lot of kings and coho still around. Tackle Haven in Benton Harbor or Broadlows Fishin hole in ST Joe are good resources. Welcome to the site if you are around Sunday give the MC squared a call on 68 we cant get out befor that. Check our post for 3/31 for more info on baits and what we did. Welcome to GLF.
  17. My wife bugged me all the time to go perchin not trollin for big fish. She finally caught a 20# King and that was the ticket from then on. Big fish first then Perch.
  18. Nice way to get back in the swing for the season. WTG Russ.
