  1. Thanks for the information Capt. Ron!
  2. She is sweet Ed and really nice space we had 7 on board and were not crowded at all. Too many novice anglers to make a real push at landing all the strikes . I was amazed at the speed control, no bags and just running on 1 engine we trolled from 2.2 to 2.7 on the gps with no problem, the Fish Hawk is a learning experience, and the New Humminbird 858 is a huge bonus. I would recommend the 858 cdi to anyone getting a new fish finder gps combo, the down image is kind of nice but the regular graph is awesome. Marks really well and is really visible.
  3. First trip on the new boat, Sunday, Info from my slip neighbor said 50 FOW and south lots of bait and coho were there. We Started in 45 feet, and set 4 riggers 2 dipseys, and 2color 5 color 6 color and 10 color , deep rigger had 11 inch white paddle with a blue bubble fly, other riggers set from 20 to 35' all spoons with free sliders. Best bait for the day was Fuzzy Bear, Moonglow Orange, we stayed in 50 to 60 fow, got 2 in 2 hours, 1 Coho on a 5 color and a 6# king on a 6 color same spoon, had a Steelhead hit a Limon Ice as we let it out , lost it , 2other hits and then nothing. Worked North into the 530's and at 135 got into some fish ended the day 5 for 10, Marked fish and bait in close and fro 120 to 140, nice day on the water and managed first blood on the Silverking.
  4. We are selling the MC2 1974 John Allmand Citation II 23,6" OMC 225 IO, 4 Walker electric down riggers, GPS and Raytheon LCD graph, she is a great starter boat and is a fish catchin machine. On a Shore Landr all roller trailer $2500 obo. $2500.00 OBO
  5. Welcome to the site Ron. Just stay connected and guys will start helping you out. We have a lot of people Out of Tawas, and north from there I hope I see some reports from around there soon.
  6. Thanks to Dave and Dennis on the Pleasure Tyme For the tow Sunday. We had fuel issues on our last trip on the old MC2. We did manage 4 for 8 3 kings and a 15Lb laker, Big King was 18!/2, and small fist was 13 lbs. Spinnies and meat rigs, and wire dipseys with FB Moonglow Orange were the ticket. Riggers at 85 and 90 with spinnie and meat rig and dipseys on 1.5 out 140 and 190 with FB moonglow orange. See everyone on the water when the SilverKing is ready to go.
  7. Nice job Todd we were right there with you until we ran into a fuel issue. Thanks for the thoughts, we knew Denny was out there with us and they were heading in. I think we are going to have a great summer if the water stays in the 50 degree range and we can get the lake to set up a good temp break. I think the next time we are out it will be on the Silverking, should be about 2 weeks and then I will be able to spend nights on the boat and get early starts.
  8. Went out of ST JOE this AM, found Kings from the bottom to about 40' best water depth was 90 to 110, Spin doc UV with blue meat rig down to the bottom and 10 color lead core with stinger orange killer and FB moonglow orange. Slow speed was best around 2.2 mph and we got a Laker on a 4 color FB moonglow orange. Ended the day 4 for 8 and then had to quit because of a fuel issue. Thanks to Denny Neidlinger and crew for the help.
  9. I second that I have had the same thing and that is the reason that the 300 coppers don't come out until I am at 75 FOW, never had them pull up mussels at that depth but under that almost every time. We run from 2.2 to 2.7 at the ball, and slower does definitely get deeper, last summer we pulled lake trout out of 100' on 450 copper and on riggers down 105 in 100 FOW, and we got zebra mussels on both. But u have to hit the sand to get the Lake Trout.
  10. Nice job Ed. We are doing papers on our new boat Tuesday, should be fishing it in about 1 to 2 weeks. Meantime the old MC2 is not doin bad. Glad to see you are getting r done. Will post pics of the the new boat soon Its the SilverKing.
  11. Good to see u back out there Jim.
  12. We left the Piers at 7AM, went out to 60FOW and set lines marking a lot of bait and fish, worked out to 80 and got our first hit Lake Trout on a 2 color down the chute FB sunrise glow spoon, took a while but 2nd fish came on a free slider on a rigger set at 59', fishing was slow so we started heading out to deeper water. When we hit 168 FOW things started happening, Free sliders on riggers set at 67 and 59 both went and the 2 color 4 and 6 color were all getting hit. DOC and Stinger Modified Coyote, FB Sunrise glow were all taking hits. Found a small trash line at 170 and stayed around that as it worked out to 190. Ended up 11 for 12 and pics show the results. We got our first 3 laker of the year, 1 was on a6 color 1on a 2 color and 1 on a free slider. Nothinurl=http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=6935&c=2]g real fast but fairly steady.
  13. Nice Job Josh, nice to see the Westside is alive and well.
  14. Nice to see some posts from the West side of the Pond. Nice job Adam.
  15. We caught our fish in 77 and 90 FOW, last one was the skipper and it came in 101 FOW, I am going to be out again Sunday and probably will set up in 80 and go out from there.
  16. Here's a pic of the 2 we kepturl=http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=6915&c=2]
  17. Weather forecast was for winds S at 5 to 10, waves 1 to 2 feet, left the piers at 7:15 to find wind South at 20 to25, waves 3 to 5 feet, decided to give it a try. Set up in 55 FOW on a north troll, ran 4 riggers from the bottom up to 20 ft, 2 color 4 color 6 color and 10 color, Meat on the bottom rigger to see if we coulld find a laker. First hit was a 12lb king on a 6 color Fuzzy Bear Sunrise spoon, wish I could find more of these but they are out of production. Next fish was on a rigger at 19 with a Stinger Modified Coyote, a really fat Brown weighed in at 8lb. Fished for another half hour and at 9 decided to call it. We marked a lot of fish from the surface down to 60 ft but the conditions made fishing really bad and Andy was gettin green. We ended up 3 for 3 last one was a skipper king about 12" that we released alive.
  18. Nice Job Terry knew u would figure it out.
  19. Its a relative close 12.5 to 14 miles, about a 35 minute boat ride at 22 knots.
  20. Fished the same pattern today as Thursday 230 to 260 FOW, 2 color 4 color 6 color and Full cores were the deal. Stinger Modified Coyote and RR Sunrise, also stinger copper Orange Killer. Fished from 7:30 to 12:30 ended up 13 for 17, 12 Coho and 1 Steelhead. No pics today but Fishing was good but had to work harder than Thursday. East West Troll from 230 to 260, most of the fish came between 235 and 250. Lots of boats out there, and a Steelheaders Tournament so lots of radio chatter. Most of the Guys that slip next to us did the same thing we did.
  21. WE went 12 for 14 on Thursday, 160 to 260 FOW every thing on short cores and hi divers. Riggers down 7 to 12, check out the post from the 2nd I posted pics of baits and gave some pretty good numbers.
