  1. We set lines about 2 miles north of the piers in 25 FOW on a S troll. 4 on board, My friend Terry, my partner in the boat and Jeff. We ran a 12 rod setup, body baits on the high boards, and the 1, 2, 3 and 4 color leadcore. 2 power pro walker deeper diver 107's set on 2, and 4 riggers. The program was body baits on the long lines, pics later, Spoons on all the riggers, 70to 90 back between 8 and 15 ft down. Spoons were all stingers. Had a great morning, we finished keeping 10 fish releasing 2 and losing 2. 7, kings, 5 coho, released 2 shaker kings. We stayed on the edge or in the mud, and only had 1 hit in clean water. Best direction was either N or South, we pulled lines at 12:00 when the wind got so strong the autopilot couldn't hold course. Never got south of the pumping station or north of the North beach.
  2. Lets all take a moment of silence for a fallen fellow fisherman. 43 is way too young, I will pray for his wife and children.
  3. Looks like some fine eating there.
  4. Ok got to the boat at 5:30. Got riggers and all the tackle on board by 7:00, fired up the big V8's and went out for a shake down about 7:30, put out 4 riggers and 2 long lines. Made 1 pass down to the pump station and went 1 for coho, on a stinger glow Christmas 12 down on a rigger. Sunday went out in a raging East wind and turned the corner of the piers and headed south. worked in and out from 15 to 25 FOW and ended up a short morning at 10:30 with 5 out of 7 the Stinger glow Christmas took 4 of the 7 hits 12 down. Other hits came on #3 river rocker red tail, and Brads thin fin red coachdog. Big fish Sunday 14# 35" King rest were 3 nice coho and 2 shaker Kings
  5. Come on Ed its only money. Currently same price I paid last season. The big 7.3's will fire Saturday for our shake down.
  6. Boat splashed Wed. Friday evening Put all the stuff on board Sat. Fishing.
  7. Should be ready to go next weekend finally warm enough to paint the bottom Now get all the equipment back on her and start fishing.
  8. You guys need to check out the St Joe launch across the channel and just up from Brians Marina. Better docks, and a fish cleaning station. Parking is five bucks but a lot nicer docks and the cleaning station make it really good. You can purchase a season pass for about 30 bucks if you are going to be coming to St Joe a lot.
  9. Nice job Terry. Boat should be in by next weekend. Had to get the bottom paint done before splashing her. As always appreciate the pics. Have a great season. BTW where did u find the river rockers. (they look amazingly like my old tadpolly's
  10. Good job Larry, the Silverking will be fishing next weekend. Bottom paint going on today. Lets have a great summer in St Joe. BTW did you check the St Joe City launch on Anchors Way? Are their docks in yet?
  11. 2.2 to 2.5 mph works well top 12 feet work close to the inside edge of the dirty water. I am jealous, my boat is still on blocks waiting to get the bottom paint done.
  12. There are still bergs out in front, u can launch out of Benton Harbor or St, Joe but my Charter captain friends are still fishing the river, because of the large ice flows. Good luck Kevin if you get out let me know how u do.
  13. Lake Michigan St Joseph Tuesday April 1, River mouth clear out 1/4 mile then Icebergs. No early in for 2014, Hope to get the bottom paint done by the end of next week and get her going. Tight lines
  14. Siggs blue bubble and 8" UV spinnie, also Sigs no see um with an 11" White Glow Paddle. Later in the summer a Siggs Pickle Sunshine fly and Mtn Dew Spinnie.
  15. 20# Ande for all my mono rods. 40#Fluorocarbon leaders for flies. 30# 7strand wire for wire dipsy presentations and 40#Power Pro for the Power Pro dipsy presentations. I run wired dipsys low and power pro high. When the Seafleas start I have 6 reels spooled up with flea flicker and the go on as soon as the fleas start. Takes 10 minutes to change reels.
  16. Welcome aboard. Glad to see GLF spreading to Lake O.
  17. Makes me wish that the Ice would hurry up and break up on Lake Michigan. Nice Hump back.
  18. For a family boat, bigger is always better. The 18.5 would be a really economical boat to run but for a family of more than 4 really crowded, the 22 SeaRay would be an awesome boat to start with. Comfy and can be set up like Ben said, and still be used for family outings.
  19. The Hydra Sport is an awesome hull design and very capable of anything you throw at it. As long as you are going to go for it I would take that one. 459 hours is nearly nothing, and getting the kicker makes a no brainer.
  20. Family fun and some tasty, tasty fishies for the fry pan. Nothing better.
  21. My 31' Chris Craft Commander idles around 900, and I have no trouble getting to 2.5 mph, but she is really touchy on the throttle, thinking about a couple of 48" sea anchors to let us keep the rpm up. Never tried it before but I know a lot of people that swear by it. Thinking it is time to give it a shot. I found a really good bag with trip lines for about $70.00 on ebay. Just for info when trolling I put the trim tabs all the way down, helps us slow down.
  22. Nice fish porn Ed. How far up river were you?
  23. Terry: Can't fish it but where do I send a donation?
