  1. No surprises in South Haven. It a fairly short ride out too. The direction for the troll varies day to day. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any more questions.
  2. Congratulations on the bird and thanks for the great story.
  3. Great story and bird Adam!
  4. Thanks for the invite. I had great time fishing with you.
  5. What about a Sunday outing? The forecast is a bit more favorable.
  6. The radio was dead after you guys had left. Would have been great to been out earlier.
  7. Fished with a friend today out of South Haven. Heading out we seen Fishsniffer, GLF & Dirty Dog heading in. We set up a 6 rod spread just outside of piers and headed SW. Within the first 15 minutes we had lost the first two fish 35' behind the boat. In the next 10 minutes we pulled a double and released the two Lakers back unharmed. Once we hit 60 FOW water we went due South. Didn't have another bite until we made the turn back north at the plant. Then we boxed a small King. Then nothing till we missed one just south of the piers in 55 FOW. Then we made the turn in. We finished the troll in catching two more Lakers and losing two more too. Finished 5/10 = 4 Lake Trout released and 1 King. I believe that four of the five fish lost to be Lakers. They just couldn't stay hooked to the Thin Fish. Blue/Org Thin Fish on two color took the King and missed another fish. Org J-9 on three color took a fish. Red/Gold Thin Fish on a two color was 1/4. Org/Chart spoon on the rigger took a fish. Glow Bloody Nose on the rigger took a fish. Org spoon on the rigger lost one fish. The flat line off a board did not produce for us.
  8. Welcome to the site Peter. My home port is South Haven. I fish out of a 19' Rinker deep-V. Let me know if you need any help.
  9. I have used Berts ratcheting rod holders for three years with no problems. They are avalibale in a satin finish, if you are worried about scratches and water marks. I use them on the traxstech tracks.
  10. I picked one up myself today. I've heard good reports with it. Also picked up a Rapala J-11 in the Bleeding Copper Flash.
  11. Most of my DW action fly's get replaced with a Owners 2X treble. Not sure of the size, but I think they are 1's. I have some pre-rigged Big Weenie tournament fly hooks that have done great.
  12. Welcome to site Kevin. I would recommend adding copper or lead to the spread. I have had days where the only thing that caught fish was the boards. Makes me wonder what would have happened with out them. When you have a more diverse spread, you increase your chances of putting fish in the box.
  13. Welcome to a great site. I fish from St. Joe to Muskegon. Most of the time it's out of my home port of South Haven. If you ever have any questions or need help, just give me a shout.
  14. I will generally run the same or similar color spoon for my slider. The main line spoon is a Mag. and the slider is a standard. Early in the year I will run a SS as the slider and not worry so much about the color matching the main line spoon. I have always ran free sliders, but I'm looking to try some fixed sliders this year.
  15. Welcome to the site Keith. South Haven is my home port and I make the occasional trip to Saugatuck. If you need any help, just shot me a PM. I also post the reports of all of my trips.
  16. Yes it's true. The DNR would get a federal grant for $400,000 to take it out or Hamilton would have to come up with $250,000 to fix it. There was an open meeting last week. I hadn't heard anything about what came out of that.
  17. Drove by the lake today, just south of Douglas, and the skim ice is gone.
  18. With spring just around the corner, let's here what your best/favorite Brown bait is. I don't have much luck with the body baits for Browns, so mine would have to be a Monkey Puke spoon.
  19. It is in-scripted along the edge of the coin.
  20. I have a couple E-chip flies and attractors. I haven't seen evidence that they increase catch rates...Well at least not on my boat. They do cost more than a standard lure.
  21. I will be there to buy my Siggs Rigs Fly's. I don't have allot of money to spend right now. I now the kakahi boys will be there, but I will wait for them to speak at our next Steal-headers meeting.
  22. Welcome to the site Chris. Nothing better than getting a kid hooked on fishing.
  23. Two wrongs don't make a right. Vickers shouldn't have put the legal block on Jr. and Jr. shouldn't have spun Vickers. It took out Kyle Bush, who had the strongest car. -nFE9ZXmgIs
  24. White glow crush/White glow crush.
  25. I only have one 11" SD. It was very productive two years ago. The rest of mine are mostly 8" SD. I have found the the 11" will not fit into my 8" box.
