  1. I'm not familiar w/ tackle shops in the greater GR area. Lake Shore Outfitters should be able to get them in for you. Another option is to have Tuna Toms ship them to you.
  2. I will second that the WM Okuma rep. is great! He has done me right. That is why most of what I've bought, over the last four years, is Okuma.
  3. That was along my thoughts. It would appear that one rigger is 80' down? How many other riggers did you have down and at what depth? Some times, if you run the bait close to the ball, the graph will mark the lure (bait) too. One other explanation for the marks (lines) in the 30's, is the graph is picking up the DR cable.
  4. Great job on that south troll. Many others struggled with it Saturday.
  5. It would appear if the sensitivity is is set a bit too high? Not sure if that is the thermocline, in picks 2&3, either. Most units, that I have seen, have a gradual color change w/ the thermocline. The marks that you refer to would appear to be clutter. With limited experience with that particular unit, I'm sure that I could be wrong. The important part is that you have the ability to mark fish.
  6. Better to have trailer problems Friday afternoon than Saturday morning. Missing the early bite would have sucked.
  7. Put some Febreze on it till you can have cleaned. It will cut down on the smell.
  8. Great job on the limit Joe & Jarod.
  9. I've had no problems with leaders, it is always the hook that fails. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13066
  10. Set up, in the first rain storm, north in 85 FOW just before 7 o'clock. Worked NW out to 110 with out a bump. Made the turn and worked back in closer. Around 8 PM we lost a good fish on the DR 60' down w/ a Stinger blue freaking veg. in 97 FOW. Not too long later, the 300' copper went. It was a nice 16# King on a DW mag. mixed veg. It wasn't much later when the same DR fired again. This time it was very spunky 5# King. It hit the Stinger Nitro Hell Fire 35' down on a fixed slider. Then the big storm came. The wind picked up allot. The waves started to build and cap instantly. We opted to pull lines and run in. Found a laker on the other DR when we pulled lines. It hit MS Flounder Pounder 77' down. The storm blew by so fast, that it was over by the time we had all of the lines pulled. Turned out to be a good thing we pulled when we did. The boat had been taking on some water and neither bilge was working.
  11. The lake continued to be a mess tonight. At least you gave it a try. Better than being at home and thinking how nice it would be to be out fishing.
  12. I've done well, in the past, with some deep diving Husky Jerks from the piers out to 40 FOW. The treble hook in the tail should be upgraded to something stronger though.
  13. I have 4 of the 9-6 MH FireWolfs. I used them for over 6 years now. The only problem that I've had was the ceramic guides came out of one of the tips. I've changed them over for my short core rods a couple of years ago. With a couple of inner flow and roller rods, for dipseys, I didn't have any other use for them. Not having invested in trees yet, they have served me well. I recall buying mine for around $20 or less a piece.
  14. It would have been a great day to have a web cam on the boat. I'm sure it made for some interesting fishing. Great job on overcoming the circumstances facing you and your crew.
  15. Thanks for another fun trip. I wonder how many other fishermen are going to try the DB/SWR (SSWR) now?
  16. Free and live fish porn!
  17. Unfortunately, Lake Shore Outfitters doesn't open till 8AM.
  18. Nice job on trolling for Large Heads!
  19. Welcome to a great site. Don't be afraid to ask any questions. The "search" button can be very informative tool.
  20. As long as the rod and boat will allow.
  21. The "June slow down" is a good time to spend bass fishing.
  22. Welcome to the site fellow Fish Whisperer!
  23. Do you have trim tabs? And have you tried using them to slow you down? Trimming the motor up, if you have I/O's or O/B's, can help too. Another option is to deploy a couple of five gallon buckets w/ holes in the bottom, to slow you down.
