THe NRC is having an open meeting at the lansing community college/mtech west campus to discuss the possibility of baiting deer again. THey want to hear both sides of the issue whether you are for it or against it and why. They want valid reasons not that it hurt the farming community. If you have a chance to get out it is on march 10th.

As of sunday i was officially put in charge of the booth for MUCC at the Grand Rapids Fishing show. My big problem is the lady that was running it in the past has fallen ill and no one can get the list of people that worked the show. I am asking a favor of any one on this board that would wish to help out. MUCC is vital in protecting our rights as outdoorsman. I am looking for volunteers that would like to come down and work the show. Your help would be going towards a great cause building the failing membership of the only group that actually fights for your rights to continue to use the Outdoors. If you come down and work you will get into the show for free and either have time while there or after your shift to walk around the show for free. Typically the early shift gets the rest of the day to roam the show and a break while working to roam. The late shift gets a break and then the show usually dies off about 7 or 8 so you have the rest of the time. Basically all you are doing is talking to people about the outdoors and tring to get them to join MUCC. The schedule i am looking to fill is as follows: Thursday open to 5 5 to close (i really need people during this time) friday open to 5 5 to close (i really need people during this time) Saturday open to 5 5 to close Sunday open to 2 2 to close amd break down. breakdown typically takes 15 to 20 minutes Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for anyone that would like to help you dont have to be a MUCC member. IF you cant put in a full five hours anytime you can volunteer will help. Thanks

There is a group that will be at the grand rapids show from st clair. i know they have spin n glos of all colors and sizes reasonable but not sure of wobble glos. I am going to be working the Out Door Ama sat and sun and they are supposed to be there. I will check tomorrow and let you know. Other than that al and bobs used to have a decent selection but that place hasnt had much of a selection of worden lures any more. other than that i am not sure. -
Thats pretty much the norm now. I learned that with a hummingbird that was on the boat when i bought it. They basically recommended to buy a new one when i called them. Most of the components on the main boards are non replaceable. So at the time i bought an Eagle 480 df and now have a HDS on the boat that i love. There is a guy in wtandotte that fixes the old paper burners.

Can I use Diawa accudepth 27lc's for dipsy rods?

I just got two more convector 45 for christmas to myself. they have the new clickers in them already. so you may not have to mess with the clickers. -
John i understand what you are saying. my last post was toward cary mac.

Is it a digital unit? If so have you ever opened one up? If not i can understand why they are so expensive to fix. I opened up an old unit that died on my dads boat just to see what was in it. It was a ray marine. 1 main board some wiring a small board and the lcd. The most expensive part of any compter item is the main board and that is typically what goes. I would be willing to bet that all the companies not just lowrance charge a ton to fix a problem like that when out of warranty. I know in the computer world when i have a computer with a bad main board you are better off just getting a new computer most of the time. People sometimes get mad when we tell them that they are better off to get a new complete system but when we show them the price of the identical main board they usually get an understanding pretty quick.

Congrats!! it is great when they start getting a little older and realizing what the boat is all about.

My problem would be with using different types of setups, the way they claim they pull to the side they would get into coppers or lead cores. We all know that not one presentation is the only presentation that seems to work each day. sometimes copper is better than lead at the same depth and vice versa. That is why we have lead, copper, wire divers, and braid divers, also mono rods that we use keel sinkers and 1 1/2 lb balls plus the riggers where we also use different combinations. I can see if that was only going to be the rig for the day but you never know what the fish are going to want, and i cant see his claim of being the only rig you will need with seeing fish liking the different presentations. I also dont like not knowing where the paits are. He claims it takes a little time to learn where each weight is running. I dont know about you guys but i am not going out and GUESSING where my baits are and hoping they are where the fish are. Espically with gas prices the way they are going to be this summer. I dont have the time or gas money to figure them out. I am out there to catch as many fish as possible in the shortest given time to not spen a fortune in gas. If there were dive curves i would probably try them. Now i cant see doing it. I think they need to do the work if they want to sell this product. On the napolean dynamite movie, i like a lot of dumb humor, but i thought that was the worst movie ever made. I just dont see the humor and can't stand a slow movie.

i called a friend of mine to see what he would recommend. He is in automotive lighting for this region and our rep for the dealership. truck lite is building the best flood right now that isn't burning out diodes after 14 months. 81380 is the truck lite part number and it runs about 129 each. grote is making one but typically is buring out diodes after the 1 year warranty. He was also saying that PIAA is making a nice set but they are like 260 a set(he doesnt sell them.). He also said that they make some set for like 100 bucks but they wont have the light output that you need for off the back of a boat. There good for like 10 ft. He was also saying most of the led driving light on the market just aren't bright enough.

Welcome aboard. the guys here will answer any questions you have honestly. They are a great group here.

Can I use Diawa accudepth 27lc's for dipsy rods?
Line Dancin replied to sslopok's topic in Salmon Pro's Connection
That combo will do you good. Now here is something else to consider. When getting ready to spool will it be mono or braid. Thats the next decision. Mono has a lot of stretch and with the diameter dosen't dive the deepest. when running long runs to get to the fish the diver will be harder to release and you may have to reel it most of the way to the boat before being able to trip it. Braid will get you almost as deep as wire using 40 lb test. it will also be easier to release when running it back 250-350 ft as there is no stretch. Mono you will replace every year but is cheap. braid will last a few years and is a little more pricy. -

other nice thing about the convector is the hadle set up. you can put the handle on the second hole they say for power and it make bringing in a heavy rig like a diver so much easier. I went to tekota 600s last year for diver and am buying the power handle from tuna toms for them. they are a pain with that short handle on them.
