They are the same i already checked it out and now own two from walmart.

He is full of $h1*. I ordered two a couple months ago and they are the new version of the convector with the wide mouth guide just like my other 10. No Difference what so ever. Oh i also checked to see if they had the updated clicker springs and yse they do. They are current production reels. THere were a few booths that had them for 65 - 68 bucks there. I know outdoorsman was asking 65.99 for the 30 series.

Now cowbells are a different story than running a dodger. Clip the cowbells directly to your main line with a good quality snap swivel. the 16 to 24 inches is all you need to your hook directly attached to the cowbells. With a dodger you are looking for the dodger to put the action to the spion n glo moving from side to side. cowbells just spin in a straight line basically and impart no action to the spin n glo. A dodger if the lead is to short then the spin n glo whips wildly. if to long you loose action. For dodgers the best method is three time the length of the dodger.

Another reason i sold all my walleye boards. I went with offshore sst board and they pull 300 nicely.

Pardon me it was my second post that stated that i have used them three seasons. And i was wrong last year would have made the forth season not the third.
-
This isnt just LAST YEAR i said in my first post over the last three seasons. I know last year was a messed year. Even when conditions were right i have noticed that the one half core was out producing my two 75 coppers.

I ended up with a really good deal on wilderness rods at mik lurch at the show for 15 bucks each.

I asked my Mobil rep once when i was in the trucking industry what the difference was in mineral oils. He had told me that the biggest difference was the detergents that are put into oil, and how much detergent. Then he had said that in a marine engine you want to have the better detergent/better oil. Reasoning for this is that in an io or inboard the oil needs to hold as much sediment in the oil as possible since most marine engines either dont have a drain plug or the drain plug never get pulled out. THis is the only way to get as much sludge as possible out. I never asked about synthetics as Volvo doesn't recommend synthetics for my engine and outdrive. As far as what is suitable there is a number on the bottle in a circle that says the specs of the oil as long as you match that spec you should not have a problem as it has to meet those standars for detergents. As far as filters they have to meet specs also check what materails your filter is made of and the micron of the filter. Just because it threads and is the same size. on doens't mean it is correct Match those and you will be fine. Now there is also a long life filter which i prefer. The long life filter have reinforcements so they dont "crush". ALso the long life filter use all material and no cardboard in the filters, unlike some of the other brands out there.

Problem with getting the wife into it is that she gets violently sea sick in any kind of waves. She gets queasy in any movement besides straight. it even sucks driving somewhere as there are times we have to stop so she can get out and get her bearings again. I wish i could she could drive for me.. -
All the state websites are like that, and they make it next to impossible to find a phone number to call them.

if your using a super braid for backing you want to put a piece of mono between the braid and copper. Reason for this is braids dont reall show wear where mono does. Saves you loosing a copper setup that way.
-
That may be part of the reason but my lof going back three years when i set up the 75s is when it started the slow down on those rods.

I would look at 12s if your riggers and boat can handle them. You heard the joke about the wife selling a guys stuff for what he told her he paid for it right? Just buy it and sneak it into the boat like i do. When she came on to the boat she looked and said i dont remeber all those rods. I replied i have always had all those... Actually my wife knows and just shakes her head now and doen't complain to much most of the time. -
I know canning sucker the bones turn soft. I didn't think that would happen with salmon? Sounds good.

I was looking through my logs since switching to all coppers. I noticed my 75' coppers have kind of died off compared to running a half core. Has anyone else noticed this. I am considering taking then copper off of those two rods and putting a half core on each. My 150 and 300s have increased in catch ratio compared to lead core.

I like that one ken

"Ben Fishin ? or Ben Catchin" I kind of like ben fishin. my wife suggested ben catchin. When i first got my boat i wanted to name it aquaholics. But three things chaned my mind My dad could never remember it the first few weeks using it and the second he would call us the alcoholics. That drew some ribbing over the radio. When i put the boat in a slip in erie there were three other boats with the same name. The boat name really came from my wife buggin me to take line dancing lessons. I really had no interest in it and can tolerate country music but am by no means a fan. I was laying in bed one night and it hit me when you are fighting a fish the Line is dancing. So line dancin became the name. needless to say she wasnt happy when i woke her up to tell her the boat name.

I agree with skinning the fillets. I skin all the fillets. Dont let anyone tell ya you cant grill skinned fillets or smoke them. I do it all the time. It the smoker the fish has a better taste as the smoke gets to all sides of the meat. I also remove the lat line fat. It will make your fish taste so much better doing that.

Some guys sit there with pliers and pull the bones. I tried it and hated the time it took. Now i run my fingers downe the bones find where it ends and cut the tail off the is now bonless. take your knife and start on one side and feel the bones as you cut down that piece is now boneless. Do the same in the other side. you loose a piece that is about the thickness of a piece of bacon and have no bones in the fillet. It takes a little practice but once you get it, it is easy to do. When you come in some day meet me at the fish cleaning station in holland and i can show you. As far as the ribs i cut the fillets off the spine then remove them.

I have bought heartlands beofore and know they are a decent rod but the price on them is now more than the shimano TDRs. So in looking at a couple new rods for the boat i am considering the wilderness rods or the tdrs. I would like to hear opinions on these two rods please.

Offshore SSTs here. Now all the offshore boards are the SST's. Churches make good divers in rough water while pulling fast for steelies. Offshores SSTs dont dive like the churches do in that situation. I also think they pull 300' copper out to the side better also.
