When i got that error message on my eagle seacharter 480 it was the hockey puck antenna that was bad. It wasn't the head unit. Mine was under warranty and i RMAed it and the new one fixed the problem.

Vans should have given you the aftermarket price and availability also. Usually on a part like that when i have called they give you the Volvo and also aftermarket without even asking if you are concerned about aftermarket. I would call them back and ask about aftermarket for that engine. Unless there isn't one available for that one though. I think i would inquire about it. Also ask about other part number supersessions. I know working at the Volvo truck dealer that there are usually 3 or 4 good numbers and you can run all the suppersession numbers to find the after market. Volvo superseded numbers constantly even if the part hasn't changed at all.

I have a volvo also. Only place to get volvo part that has anything in stock is Vans on alpine. Don't buy used you'll just be replacing it again in a year or two. If your boat still has a points system you can get a kit to change it over to electric ignition. I did it on mine and am overjoyed that i did. I hate messing with points. I think the kit was like 250 from vans when i did it. Came with new distributor coil wires cap rotor and what ever else was needed. I bought the kit then had johnsons install it as i dont know how to do that kind of engine work. Van's Sport Center Inc. 1855 Alpine Ave. NW Grand Rapids MI 49504 Phone: 616-364-0666 Email: [email protected] I know this isn't related to that but if you need a spare prop michigan prop in grand rapids has demo volvo props and rebuilds for a really good price right now.

Silver Streaks same as dreamweavers. Not sure if chip is still selling them or not.

I saw at outdoorsman i believe, they sell a 600 ft spool of 30lb malin line and also woodstock line. that may be what he is talking about. For the extra couple bucks i would rather put the 1000 on and have the ability to cut back when needed or have a break off and not have to respool as often.

Shakespear is pushing their new solderless connectors. It is hard to find a solder connector anymore. Everywhere that sells shakespeare vhf equipment has just the solderless now. My new antenna last year came with that type. I keep saying i am going to order a solder type but the shipping is more than the connector.

Its good that they came around for you. Hope everything works out ok for you. When you get the check it will be like christmas at the tackle shop. IF yoiu tell them that you have x amout of dollars to spend at once to buy all new gear something they will even give a discount or throw in a few few items. We did that with goldcoast a few years ago when a friends boat was robbed.

Dont use lemon joy use Dawn Concentrated. It is what is used for removing oil off roads when they scrub the roads after an accident. The concentrated stuff is just like what the FD uses except they get it in commercial 55 gallon drums. That stuff will clean anything. We divers would use that stuff when we went out to help the FD on an accident. I would mix up a batch and get them soaking as soon as you can.

I have a couple year old horton. If i was considering a new one i like the new horton lite weights or i would look at wicked ridge made by ten point. From talking to the guys at the ten point booth there is no sacrafice in quality for a lesser expensive bow.

West Mi. Fishing League share a ride.
Line Dancin replied to Nailer's topic in West Michigan Fishing League
Andrew, Not sure if or how many tournament i am going to fish. But my main deck hand moved to the other side of the state for a job that has pretty much left him stranded with not much money to fish this year. I am probably going to be looking for a rider quite a bit this season when i get done in monroe after june. We split expenses (gas) equally and have a good time. -
Looks nice, now it is time to get her in the water killing fish.

I agree 120-130 for six hours. you want a goog smoke the whole time. Not overly heavy though or the fish will get a bitter after taste. One good way to check is to take a glass of ice water and place it direclty over the smoke vent one inch above it for about a minute. It you have black specks you have to heavy of a smoke so you need to cut the smoker back a little.

Personally i wasn't impressed with the spool of viscious i was given at Jays last spring. It was 6 lb test and it was like using 4 or 2 lb test. I used it for brook and rainbow fishing small rivers. The only other line that i had problems with like this was berkly vanish wich i wll never use again. Not sure what the heavier tests are like. Based on that experience i wont spend the money to try it out either. I was going through spinners like never before. Went back to seagaur invisix and problem solved. I am now using the Seagar abrax. I read an article in a saltwater magazine where they were comparing flouro lines and they claim it was very similar to Gamma. It was actually the closet by their testing as far as line strength, knot strength, and abrasion resistance. the next closet was P-Line but i dont believe that either from experience walleye fishing. I wish i would have torn the article out. It was in an article at the Docs office and i haven't been able to find it since. They compared about 6 different flouro lines. I want to try the blood run stuff but its kind of pricy. I tried the Abrax last year on a couple rods and it held up comparably to my other rods with the last of my gamma on them. Yozuri was in with the abrax pretty neck and neck. I bought the abrax as it was availble easier when i needed it.

Jigging report 4/21 Detroit River
Line Dancin replied to melsell's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Walleye
Good job. hopefully the weather straightens up soon and things start settling down. I am really looking forward to walleye fishing this year since i am going to be slipping the boat for a month and a half over there. I am actually more excited about walleye than salmon this year. -
I just like the security of having more backing. That is why i said that. It can be done with mono. but i get almost twices as much backer on the reel with PP.
-
A cv55 has more spool capacity than the tekota 800. either way you will have to use braid for backer.
